Horne vs. Rotellini Attorney General debate back on tonight

Wednesday, September 8th, 2010

The “on again, off again” Attorney General candidate debate is back on again tonight.

Just got phone call confirmation that this previously debate between Attorney General candidates Tom Horne (R) and Felecia Rotellini (D) is back on. It was previously scheduled as an Arizona Citizens Clean Election Commission debate, but was canceled in early September when the 2 winners were found not to be participating in “clean” elections, and both running traditionally. So then if was off, but now it’s back on as a regular Horizon KAET Channel 8 debate to be moderated by Ted Simons.

See website: http://www.azpbs.org/vote2010/, which has other recent debates online as well.

After the Gubernatorial September 1st debate, the video of that debate was posted online a few hours after 7 p.m. So Tucson and Southern Arizona viewers stay tuned. It may be telecast elsewhere live, but I don’t have that information as yet.

9/9/10 UPDATE: video online here:http://www.azpbs.org/vote2010/index.php?vidId=2364#video

Viewers, let me know what you think of these 2 attorneys after tonight’s debate. See my previous blog announcing Horne’s victory over Andrew Thomas a week after the Primary– with photos & campaign websites (click here.)

Current Attorney General Terry Goddard (D) is running for Governor.

On the Democratic Attorney General campaign trail…June 21

Monday, June 21st, 2010

The three Democratic lawyers running for Arizona Attorney General (Rep. David Lujan, Vince Rabago, and Felecia Rotellini) are debating at the Saguaro Eastside Democrats meeting tonight, June 21st.

The debate kicks off at 7 p.m. but there will be light refreshments starting at 6:30 p.m. with a chance to meet the candidates. Location: New Spirit Lutheran Church, 8701 Old Spanish Trail (northeast corner of Camino Seco). Attorney Roger White will be the moderator.

These three candidates have debated previously at events hosted by the Arizona Borderland Democrats, the Nucleus Club, Drinking Liberally, and probably elsewhere in Southern Arizona. Some voters I know have already decided whom to select for this run off in the August 24 primary, but if you haven’t seen or heard these three candidates speak, attend this debate to hear how they will enforce Arizona’s laws.

You can also read my previous blogs–with photos–of these candidates (click here for the May 13 debate) and here for the January 29 one.

For more information about Saguaro Eastside Democrats, log onto their website:
or call Program Chair Pat Weidhopf at 520-850-6755. They say they are “dedicated to galvanizing people who share a commitment to Democratic values, which include:

* Loving liberty
* Working for justice
* Actively participating in our political system”.

Their political area encompasses Pima County ’s Eastside communities in Legislative Districts 28, 29, & 30.
