Obsidian Gallery presents both fine contemporary art and craft in its new Downtown Tucson location. After 25 years near the Foothills, we have relocated the gallery into the Historic Depot (train station) on Toole Avenue, on the northeast edge of the growing and revitalizing downtown scene. We have joined the Central Tucson Gallery Association and are part of the art gallery system that features regular art walks and concurrent art exhibitions. While the traditional craft media of fiber, metal, glass and wood are all represented, there is now a strong emphasis on clay sculpture, with contemporary paintings and works in mixed media complementing the exhibitions. And Obsidian is still a must-see destination for collectors of innovative studio art jewelry.
Obsidian Gallery also participates in the 1st Saturday Artwalks throughout the downtown area and near 6th Avenue/6th Street, along with 10 other galleries.
