LD 27 House debate: vote for 2 of these 8 Democratic candidates

Tuesday, July 13th, 2010

Arizona Citizens Clean Elections Commission has posted online the July 8 debate for LD 27 State House, where there are now eight (yes, eight!) candidates vying for 2 seats in this Democratic primary on August 24. This is probably the most crowded of all the races.

The two current Democratic legislators for LD 27 Representatives Phil Lopes and Olivia Cajero Bedford are termed out (but Ms. Cajero Bedford is running for State Senate in LD 27).

I’ve reported about the last debate between these contenders in May (click here), but former state legislator John Kromko joined the group thereafter.
All are participating as “clean” election candidates (indicated by the C below), except for Dustin Cox, running traditional (T).

View the debate online (click here) and decide for yourself between all these hopefuls:

John Martin Bernal (C)
Eric Bustamante (C)
Dustin Cox (T)
Bob Gilby (C)
Sally Ann Gonzales (C), former legislator
Sami Hamed (C)
John Kromko (C), former legislator
Dr. Macario Saldate (C)

This debate was held on July 8 at 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM, at the Pima Community College District Office Community Board Room, at 4905 E Broadway.

View Republican Gubernatorial debate online (Citizens Clean Elections Commission)

Friday, June 18th, 2010

Interested in viewing online the recent Arizona Citizens Clean Election Commission (CCEC) debate between the Republican Gubernatorial candidates?

Debating for one hour at the June 15 CCEC sponsored debate in Phoenix were Governor Jan Brewer, State Treasurer Dean Martin, millionaire businessman Buz Mills, and political scientist Dr. Matt Jette. Brewer and Dean are running “clean” election campaigns, Mills and Jette are traditionally funded. Candidates Tom Gordan and John Munger have withdrawn.

Or click on the link here.

The other statewide CCEC debates in Phoenix between the candidates running for Attorney General, Treasurer, Corporation Commission, and Superintendent of Public Instruction will be online at this CCEC website as well, supposedly within 72 hours of the live debates. Here’s the upcoming schedule for those candidates:

June 22 Republicans Attorney General
June 23 Democrats Attorney General
June 29 Republicans Superintendent of Public Instruction
June 30 Democrats Superintendent of Public Instruction
July 6 Republicans Treasurer
July 20 Republicans Corporation Commission
July 21 Democrats Corporation Commission

These debates are all necessary for participating candidates to receive Clean Election funding prior to the August 24 Arizona primary.

View these videos to educate yourself about all the candidates running for statewide offices in the primary. This may be your only chance to see these candidates debate each other. Some other debates for contested legislative Arizona Senate and House offices are also online at this website now.

Watch this lively Gubernatorial debate, and then decide.
