A new political Coffee Party USA

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

“COFFEE PARTY MISSION STATEMENT: The Coffee Party Movement gives voice to Americans who want to see cooperation in government. We recognize that the federal government is not the enemy of the people, but the expression of our collective will, and that we must participate in the democratic process in order to address the challenges that we face as Americans. As voters and grassroots volunteers, we will support leaders who work toward positive solutions, and hold accountable those who obstruct them.”

I saw a recent film showing of “9500 Liberty” here in Tucson at the YWCA which was hosted by Coffee Party founders Eric Byler and Annabell Park (click here). These are obviously two highly political organizers and film makers.

Coffee Party of Northwest Tucson meets every Tuesday, 1 to 3 p.m. at the Oro Valley public library, 1305 W. Naranja Drive (east of La Canada). Info: mrspianist@msn.com (from calendar listing in The New Southwest, formerly Tucson Green Times, October 15 to November 15, 2010 issue).

I just got an email from the founders urging everyone to vote today as well.
Or as they might say: “Wake up (by drinking coffee) and stand up.”
