The Tucson Parks and Recreation Department would like to thank the Tucson Mayor and Council, the Tucson Parks Foundation and the private sector for their collaborative efforts in the Summer Splash Campaign 2013. Because of those efforts the department is able to provide the opportunity for additional swim lessons, open swim and summer youth employment this year. Eight summer seasonal pools (two more pools than 2012) in addition to the ten year-round pools will be open this summer.

The eight Summer Splash pools opening May 30 – July 31 are: Escalante, Freedom, Himmel, Jacobs, Mansfield, Menlo, Palo Verde, and Purple Heart.

BRING BACK THE SPLASH POOL PARTY!
Wednesday, May 30, during “Family Swim” from 5:30-7 p.m.

The public is invited to help celebrate the grand opening of six Summer
Splash pools! You and your family won’t want to miss this exciting event. The Omni Tucson National Resort has donated a two-night Family Staycation (valued at $500), and your family could win.

The Tucson Parks Foundation will coordinate the free raffle at each pool site listed below. Each pool will select one winner and that person must be 18-years-of-age or older to participate. Drawing is limited to one entry per household. No purchase necessary and need not be present to win.

Local radio stations will be broadcasting from each of the Summer
Splash pools and will announce the winners of the Omni Tucson National
Resort Staycation at approximately 6:45 p.m.

The Tucson Parks and Recreation Department and the Parks Foundation have been rewarded by the efforts of proactive businesses, philanthropic groups and individuals dedicated to making city pools available to our community.

The “Bring Back the Splash” campaign has attracted needed funds to open an additional six Summer Splash pools this upcoming summer season.

TUCSON POLICE DEPARTMENT SPONSORS Learn-to-Swim LESSONS

Recognizing the community’s enthusiasm for the Summer Splash program,
Tucson’s Chief of Police, Roberto Villaseñor has sponsored this summers
Learn-to-Swim Lessons with a grant from resources seized from criminal
intent. Offering free swim lessons (with a $2.00 registration fee) is
seen as a great opportunity to teach children the lifesaving skills of
swimming and the lifelong value of quality recreation time. Learn more

These summer pools are only open May 30 to August 1 (a little over 2 months) but it’s certainly better than before when the pools were closed. Admissions fees are only $2 adults, $1 (17 and under). Refer to the online program guides for summer pool pass fees.
