Art Garfunkle with TSO at the Music Hall on Jan. 16

Wednesday, January 13th, 2010

One night only, legendary folk singer Art Garfunkle will be performing live with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra (http://www.tucsonsymphony.org/) on January 16, 2010 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tucson Music Hall, 260 S. Church Ave. in downtown.

George Hansen will be conducting and Garfunkle will be doing vocals.

“Art Garfunkel is one of those great, rare voices,” wrote James Taylor for Rolling Stone. Small wonder that Garfunkel has been a force in music since he and Paul Simon landed their first recording contract in 1957. Today, Garfunkel continues to mesmerize with his signature tenor voice and music. Be there when he fills our hall with “The Sounds of Silence,” “All I Know,” “Bright Eyes” and more. Garfunkle is also well known as the former singing partner of Paul Simon when their duo was called “Simon and Garfunkle”. They were a big hit in the 1960s and 1970s. I especially liked their melodious songs “I am a Rock”, “Bridge Over Troubled Water”, and “Scarborough Fair/Canticle.”

To purchase single tickets or subscriptions call the TSO Box Office (520) 882-8585 or go online to their website.

Welcome to Tucson, Art Garfunkle!
