She’s back…local artist Melo (aka Mel) Dominguez traveled to Montevideo, Uruguay on an Art & Climate Change project. Check out her new art at the cute Pop Cycle store on 4th Avenue on October 19 (7 to 9 p.m.) The store is located just south of E. 6th Street, east side.
She’s also participating in a few group shows this Fall:
Tohono Chul Park Gallery – “Dia De los Muertos” group show; runs through November 10, 2013 (7366 N. Paseo del Norte, NE corner of Ina Rd.)
Yikes Toy Store – “Circus” group show; runs through December 31, 2013 (2930 E. Broadway, west of Country Club)
Arte de La Vida – “Dia de los Muertos Ofrendas” group show; runs through November 1, 2013; CLOSING RECEPTION November 1st 6pm-8pm (37 N. Tucson Blvd, north of Broadway)
Pita Jungle on Broadway – “Dia De Los Muertos” group show; October 14- November 17, 2013 (5340 E. Broadway, west of Craycroft)
Contreras Fine Art Gallery Art Show w/fellow artist Carmen Sonnes; December 2-January 25, 2014; Opening Reception December 7th 6pm-9pm (110 E. 6th St., west of 6th Avenue)
Lots of art shows to view Mel’s imaginative and powerful art this Fall. Also recently saw some of Mel’s original art at the Tucson Tamale Company (2545 E. Broadwaqy), and her terrific (hopefully winning) entry for the 25th Annual All Souls Procession poster contest. That piece was on display during the recent TAART walk on Toole Avenue on October 5 in the Arches.
