Stay tuned for updates, as I will post new figures as they become available — but only if the results are changed from this initial report, as ballots will be counted slowly day by day. This is the update of the latest returns, but not all precincts have reported statewide. Congratulations to the winners.

Legislative candidates’ forums hosted by Pima Council on Aging

Sunday, September 16th, 2012

There are several contested State Senate & House races in LD 2, 9, 10, 11 in the upcoming Nov. 6 General Election. Candidates in LD 3 are unopposed: State Senator Olivia Cajero Bedford, House Reps. Sally Ann Gonzales and Macario Saldate. LD 2 State Senator Linda Lopez is running unopposed. Attend these forums to meet & ask questions of your future legislative representatives.

If you’re unsure of who’s running in your Legislative District (LD), go to AZ Secretary of State’s website (click here for official list). Each LD elects one Senator and two House representatives to the AZ State Legislature, every two years.

All forums (between October 1 and 12) are from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Vote wisely on or before Nov. 6, with early voting starting on Oct. 11.

Tuesday, May 22nd, 2012

A live debate between the 3 candidates running for the vacant CD 8 Congressional seat will beheld on May 23 at 7 p.m. at the Tucson Jewish Community Center, 3800 E. River Rd. (north of Dodge Blvd.) The organizers are asking the public not to arrive before 6 p.m. due to parking issues. This debate is sponsored by the Arizona Daily Star and the Tucson Jewish Community Center, and will also be broadcast live on KVOI AM 1030 Tucson and KAPR AM 930 Douglas.

Click here for my previous blog about the CD 8 debates (with photos and campaign websites).

If you don’t want to attend the debate, with want to listen to it with other “liberals”, Drinking Liberally is hosting their weekly meeting with a radio to listen on KVOI. They meet at The Shanty at 6 p.m., 401 E. 9th St. (NE corner of 4th Avenue).
