I don’t know why there isn’t a long line outside of Opa! Greek restaurant at 2990 N. Campbell Ave. Suite 130 (between Glenn and Ft. Lowell, east side).
I’ve been there several times and enjoyed their delicous food, but the best kept secret in Tucson is their fantastic, generous $5 lunches. For $5 (no kidding) you get an appetizer of pita bread, hummus, sliced cucumbers, tsaziki sauce PLUS the main entree salad (Greek or organic), or your choice of 5 pita sandwiches, 3 greek burgers or organic pasta (spaqghetti or penne). I’ve eaten the Greek salad and organic salad, which were both delicous, fresh, and generous.
The Organic salad had fresh salad greens (none of that white lettuce stuff), sliced tomatoes as well as dried tomatoes, sliced almonds, mandarin oranges, plus more pita bread slices. Compliments to the Chef, as it was fantastic. And the bill came out only to $5.41, with tax, along with very prompt, efficient & friendly servers.
Here’s Opa’s website (click here) with their menu, catering options, testimonies from other happy customers, etc. No wonder they’ve been voted Best of Tucson’s Greek restaurant in the Tucson Weekly and Tucson Lifestyle Magazine for years. They are celebrating only 5 years of operation in 2013.
