I have visions of the elephants and the donkeys meeting in the congressional watering holes and exchanging "investment tips." Then, they go out and fake disdain for the opposing ideologies of the "opposition" to appease our partisan sensibilities.  All the while, they're laughing all the way to the back, quite comforted that we will never hold them accountable for any transgression that fall outside of those they've given us permission to treat seriously (global warming, abortion, gay marriage, tax increases/decreases).  "But what are we going to do about it?" Probably nothing....as they lead us (and our children) to slaughter. But after reading this, can we at least acknowledge that the donkeys aren't the voice of the common citizen? There is no voice for the common citizen; because the common citizen habitually refuses to speak up for his or her self.
