FREEZE property taxes and let our seniors live their lives at the same home until they decide to sell it!!!

Simply raise property taxes ONLY when a home is SOLD!

While it's always easiest to blame whatever political party you dispise, WHY not simply vote out ALL INCUMBENTS next election?

Could it really be any worse?

Art, if this adjustment to the state sales tax were adopted, reducing the rate from 5% to 3.4%, there would be a significant reduction in the amount of TIF that is generated in the Rio Nuevo District.

Even with the broadening of the sales tax base offsetting the rate reduction, there would surely be a negative impact on the TIF, given that the vast majority of the TIF generated along Broadway is from retail, not from services that would be newly-taxable.

I wonder if anyone is crunching THOSE numbers.

If there is a state budget by August, I'll be amazed.

I think city-wide elcting of the council members is silly. I recently moved here from Kansas City, Missouri, where they have a Ward setup similar to Tucson's. The only difference is that each Ward elects its own council member to represent it, which makes a lot more sense than the entire city voting for council members that represent someone else.

The Rialto mess is a disaster and the offered solutions made public do not help any. Trasoff and Glassman need to stop giving away city land just to make developers happy.
