Random Political Notes

Jesse Kelly wants me to “send a warrior to Congress.” I mis-read that at first and thought he wanted me to send a worrier to Congress. It made some kind of odd sense because Kelly is clearly a worrier.

If nothing else he is worried that he won’t have enough signs, which continue to sprout in every median. It’s like this, Jesse. The VooDoo Priestess who told you that each small sign was worth one vote and each big sign was worth five… was probably having you on.

I continue to receive a constant stream of anti-Hayworth mail from McCain. Wow, talk about a worrier… I can hear the VDP (VooDoo Priestess) now.

What I worry about are the devoted Hayworth disciples. Who in the world will these disappointed souls vote for when McCain wins the primary? Might they…gasp…vote for a Democrat? Sit on their hands? It’d be one way of getting rid of McCain. Maybe there’s a voodoo curse.

The Union Bug

This is a union bug. You’re most likely to see it on printed material, indicating that the print job was either the work of a union designer, or printer, or both.

You used to see a bug on lots of stuff made or printed in the USA…but no more. Chinese political prisoners don’t have  unions.

I always look for a union bug on campaign material I receive. I pretty much don’t expect to find it on Republican material, but I do expect to see it on Democratic campaign offerings. And I’m disappointed when I don’t.

So far I’ve only spotted it twice, but then the Republican primaries have generated more campaign lit than the Democratic ones.

I did see the bug on a mailing from Felicia Rotellini, a Democratic candidate for Attorney General. It was also on one of her large street signs. The second bug sighting was on a mailing from David Lujan, who is also a Democratic candidate for Attorney General.
