A Data Port Poll

by on Mar. 20, 2012, under Politics, Primaries, Tucson Politics

Nan Stockholm Walden is out before she is in, and has announced  that she won’t  run for Congress in District  2 in November. Steve Farley has also withdrawn  from the Congressional wars with the announcement he’s running for the state Senate instead.

What would an election be without caucuses, polls, and stout assertions of political preferences?

Here you go…the first Data Port political preference poll, this time featuring Republican candidates for Congress in the soon-to-pass-away  District 8.

Who do you favor? You may comment about your choice in the comments section.

    Why, Art?  Why, why, why?

Ping Ping… Huh? Sonar? What? Did she command a submarine too?  Sonar? Really? Martha McSally – “Put more barriers in place and more
intelligence operations. We need manpower, sonar, sensors. Operationally, we
need to go after those who are trafficking weapons, slaves, drugs along our
    border.

Jo:  I’m guessing that you were in basic agreement with him and stroked his ego a little bit.  My behavior?  I asked a series of questions to him an email.  They were not rude, they were not pushy, they were asking for some reply and explanation.   He didn’t like what I was asking.
At another time i called him when he was on the radio and asked how i could get ahold of him via email since all of my emails to his azleg.gov address got a rote “i’m too busy to answer” response.  He didn’t like that I made that reality a little public.  At that time I also asked him about the Legislature’s cuts to education and his response to me was ” it was only 12%, that’s not so much.”  When i countered with “12% is alot when it is translated into dollars” he got angry and started yelling at me on the phone that I didn’t know what I was talking about.  (this was also on air )  I asked him to calm down as he is a State Legislator and his reaction to me was out of line, he only got more angry and beligerrant.
You can take it or not but this is one family who also has manyi friends who vote Republican and who will NOT support Frank Antenori for any public office.  He is offensive.  Arrogant.  Caters only to those who agree with him.

This election is about sending the right person to Washington to represent this state and our nation. It’s not about gender or name recognition. It’s about experience and a documented, long term history of success at the national and international level.  It’s not about boasting of success in a particular area while belittling the efforts of others.  This is nothing but a distraction and a waste of time.  This election is about who has historically demonstrated performance with the highest standards of  integrity, honestly, diplomacy, maturity and self-discipline.  This is a time for listening to the people, reaching across the aisle, taking the emotion out of the argument and working to focus on lasting solutions not short term fixes.  Emotions fade while the issues remain.  This is a critical time for our state and our nation.  Do your homework.  Do it now.

In case it was not clear… the previous post was an enthusiastic vote for Martha McSally!

JO, my guess is that there are a few Antenori plants on this website too….interesting that he has so many statements here about his public service, his experience as a Legislator and his “proven track record” and then he also tweeted to his followers to vote in this poll.   Politics is a game and you know it.

Frank Antenori is the strongest candidate with real experience. He is the only one who has been continuously active in the community for almost two decades. Where was Jesse Kelly for the past two years? Martha Mc Sally certainly has a distinguished military career but can we afford to elect someone who didn’t even know who Paul Ryan was until just recently? And how much of her success was due to affirmative action preferences?  Nobody but Frank Antenori can beat Ron Barber and be ready to hit the ground running in June. Which is why the liberals are supporting all the other candidates.

    • SueHM

No, Dems are supporting others like McSally simply because they feel they COULD live with her…that she seems willing to work with both sides and will stop this ridiculous partisanship that divides the country and only creates a stalled government.  .  THAT is why I support McSally.  I know that Antenori would not even come close to trying to work across the aisle.  He’s never shown any willingness to do that before so why would he start now?

Simply put, Jesse Kelly has neither the brains, credibility or honesty for public office, the will for fighting or the compassion to represent the people of southern Arizona either CD8 OR CD2.
