Martinez was taken to University Medical Center following the 1 a.m. shooting where he died soon after arrival.

Martinez had been inside the club, located at 1104 S. Craycroft Road, speaking with two men and, when he went to leave, he was confronted by several other men who had also been inside the club.

“A physical altercation erupted, which escalated to a shooting,” Pacheco said.

Police believe the suspects are active gang members and gang unit detectives are investigating.

No arrests have yet been made, but Pacheco said police have some promising leads and are still interviewing witnesses and processing the crime scene.

This is the second homicide at the Candy Store Show Club in the past four months.

It’s open all night, so it’s a pretty good bet that you’re going to be feeling it the next morning. Enjoy the late-night debauchery, but drink lots of water and pop some Advil.”
