Shoes or Torture?

by on Jan. 13, 2010, under Uncategorized

Every girl knows that choosing the right shoes can either make or break any outfit. Personally, I like to build outfits around some of my more extravagant styles of kicks. What could you do with these Alexander McQueens shoes?!

They are so outrageous yet enthralling at the same time. I definitely wouldn’t be able to pull them off in any context!

I really like the pair on the right for some reason…

Right there is your perfect example of the problem of overproduction in bourgeois capitalist societies.  What nonsense!

*sigh*  I, too, like the pair on the right — the purpley ones, as they still sorta resemble shoes.

Like numerous other women, shoes are a guilty pleasure for me.   And, I’m convinced you gotta be a girl to get it.     Shoes are generally the one clothing article were size doesn’t matter.  You can be thin, heavy, tall, short and everything in-between and  still look spectacular, I mean smokin’ hot, with the right pair of shoes…  preferably Italian.    Nothing, well almost nothing, beats the feeling of slipping on a new pair of shoes and looking down and seeing how it fits for that very first time.  The  guilty pleasure variables are endless but can include  the back curve of the shoe as it cups one’s heel, maybe a shocking nail polish  color peeking out demurely, or the allure of a  thin strap of butter-soft leather that gently and gingerly holds the shoe on my foot.   *Major shudder moment*

I’m not saying all shoes are pretty, nor all shoes meant to be functional.  Most in the above-photos aren’t my cup-a-tea, but I can appreciate them.

In terms of consumption, buying shoes beats a lot of other vices.   Thanks for the blog ‘Fashion’.

Another thought — A great pair of shoes, and a French twist can cancel out the icky mojo of a bad hair day.       Shoes, glorious shoes!!!

I don’t know much about guys clothes but I would say wear something pretty nuetral – like jeans and a T – so that your shoes are the main focus ;)
Something that had a little lime in it wouldn’t be bad but I would stick to browns etc. to let your shoes shine!
