He forgives some things, other things—not so much! A look at the Christian God’s Forgiveness.by Don Lacey on Jun. 19, 2012, under Atheism, Biblical Inerrancy, Christian Self-Righteous Arrogance, Christianity, Critical Thinking, Faith, Fundamentalism, God & Bible, Logic, Question of the Day!, Religion, Sanity, Skepticism
Jim Wilson has a short message today:
Things God Forgives: rape, murder, theft, arson, enslaving others, child abuse, incest, lying, deceiving, physical violence, infanticide, genocide, adultery, torture, terrifying children with threats of eternal punishment.
Things God cannot forgive: doubt, questioning, a healthy skepticism, rejection of his alleged compulsory love, unwillingness to live a life of submission, in other words, blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. (Mark 3:28-30)
The top list contains things that deserve punishment. The bottom list contains things that should be held in high regard. The fact that the Christian God readily forgives the things on top, while sentencing people to eternal torture for the things on bottom shows us that if he exists, he is a nasty monster deserving praise from no one.
I’m Jim Wilson and I deny the Holy Spirit.
