Interesting the TV screen today with President Obama on one side together with New Jersey Governor Christie looking, sounding, taking action very much like the firm, fair, consistent Commader-In-Chief he is, always has been and always will be, while on the other side of the tube we had Romney claiming that Obama is not leading but rather behind a GM and Chrysler move of its plants from Ohio to China. A claim debunked and forcefully by these two auto dealers and every other reputable source known to mankind. When Romney’s pollster Neil Newhouse said back in August that “we’re not going to let our campaign be dictated by fact checkers” they meant it. The sin may be theirs but the crime is ours if the U.S. of A. we all know and love lets them get away with it.

Romney told the right wing base of the party everything they wanted to hear to win the nomination, and then true to his pledge did and Etch-a-Sketch to wipe the slate clean and run as an unabashed moderate to win the election. “Serene and credible”? I thought he looked like a sleazy used car salesman: “Trust me, it runs like it’s brand new”.
