"And I’m not talking about getting rid of our armies and our navies and our air and special forces. That would scare the hell out of me in a world like ours where if you let your guard down evil rushes in to do you harm but what if we called on these devices a little less than we do?"

That paragraph ruins the entire gist of this article and of little Martin Richard's message for peace.

Over the last 60 years, the US military has terrorized the world, slaughtering millions of impoverished peasants in Korean, Vietnam, Latin America, Africa, Iraq, Yemen, Afghanistan, Yugoslavia, and more places.

If we want peace in this world, the US must end its perpetual wars. The US has no viable enemies in the entire world, yet spends a trillion dollars on "defense," a euphemism for perpetual war.

The anti-federalists recognized that a standing army always leads to empire and loss of liberties. Today our massive army has given us a government that reads our emails, listens to our phone calls, murders citizens at will, and claims the right to lock up any citizen without charges.

Great poem Ernie -- you have such talent and creativity. Too bad the Cats lost in the Sweet 16 in 2013, but there's always next year. I like that photo of you after your 46 pointer game. You're still the record holder.

She is a great talent and surrounds herself with great musicians and San Diego has its share of people in that category. My sidekick, Maria, and I spent the evening of Valentine's Day listening to her at Hotel Indigo Del Mar, just a few minutes north of San Diego on the Pacific Coast Highway. Some evening. I can hear working on a song as I sit here typing.

I went to her web site, wow what a talent. My brother and daughter both live in San Diego. After listening to a couple tracks, I believe my wife and I will try to catch one of her performances next time we are in that area. I even went to itunes and downloaded a number of her songs.

Thanks for the heads up on such a great talent, and i am sure a wonderful lady in her own right.
