Today’s Google Doodle is a Playable Pac-Man Gameby Thomas Hruska on May. 21, 2010, under Arts
A lot of people use iGoogle for their Google homepage so they never really see the Google Doodle very often. However, a lot of people don’t. Google is celebrating the 30th anniversary of that classic Game of Pac-Man. So, obviously, there is a playable version of Pac-Man.
It may not be the most modern game these days. The actual anniversary date is also apparently tomorrow and was released on May 22, 1980 according to Wikipedia. But who is keeping track? I’m sure this will stick around in the Doodle archives for a while.
This can only lead the way to further video games showing up on the Google homepage.
What do you think?
Is a video game on a search engine’s homepage a great idea?
Did you forget what you were going to search for?
What do you think the next Google Doodle video game should be?
P.S. The free play deal on Steam for Altitude is still on for this weekend. Looks somewhat like a cross between Sopwith with aspects of Liero. Those are a couple of other “classic” games. It is also on sale for $5. It appears to be nostalgic weekend!
