A Steam-ed Thanksgiving – Round 2
Thursday, November 25th, 2010Steam just released the second day of deals in their “Give & Get” sale. I didn’t win anything on my wishlist in the “get” part of the sale, but there should be 30 rather happy folks out there. During this round, there are a few game packs that are interesting as well as several individual, well-rated games:
Left 4 Dead 2 (6 pack for $24.99)
Batman: Arkham Asylum – GOTY Edition (The Steam price beats GoGamer’s after adding GoGamer’s Shipping & Handling charges – best deal to date on the GOTY Edition)
Defense Grid: The Awakening (Both the individual and pack deals)
AudioSurf (Both the individual and pack deals)
DeathSpank
Indie Story Pack
Puzzle Quest 2 (10 pack for $34.99 – Finding 10 friends who would enjoy this game might be difficult though – perhaps a digital stocking stuffer?)
Let’s see how GamersGate responds. They usually like to “one-up” the good Steam deals by a single cent.
If anyone has the original Left 4 Dead, I noticed yesterday that only 3.8% of all the people who own Left 4 Dead have completed “The Sacrifice” campaign. I have to admit – even I haven’t fired up L4D in a while because, while it is the same thing over and over, it is addicting.
On an unrelated note – Black Friday is tomorrow. But there are literally no PC games on sale in retail stores. World Of Warcraft is all that retail stores are offering and WoW in more in line with a day job than a video game. I’ve already got one of those. Online vendors are going to have to pick up the slack or it will be a very sad Black Friday and Cyber Monday this year for PC gamers.
