Steam Deals – Day 4

Saturday, November 27th, 2010

I love this time of year. Digital distribution platforms go nuts on their deals. It looks like Valve updated their gift giveaway page to include how many copies of each title they have given away with Call of Duty: Black Ops holding the #1 spot. It also looks like it is okay to have games that haven’t been released yet on your Top 5 wishlist as Portal 2 and the new Deus Ex game are being given away. Without further ado, Steam has more of those great deals in both the individual and pack formats:

Left 4 Dead 2
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
Galcon Fusion (Not as cheap as it was in that Indie Action Pack from a couple days ago)
Supreme Commander 2
King’s Bounty – Platinum Edition
Indie Pulse Pack
Counter-Strike: Source (6 Pack)
NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits (10 Pack)
Red Faction: Guerrilla (8 Pack)
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare
Grand Theft Auto: Episodes From Liberty City (Both the individual game and pack)

Left 4 Dead 2 is probably about as cheap as a single licensed copy will get. Assuming, of course, that you want to play with real people – the bots are not nearly as fun or intelligent. So, I’d say this is the balance point to buy at if you were planning on ever getting it. It will probably show up again on sale around Christmas but the price could be anything.

Spring Gamez: Like shooting chickens, only more fun.

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Today, a couple of places have video game deals. Too bad most video games don’t have chickens to shoot (Counter-Strike chickens were fun). To aid you in the quest to filter the junk from the good stuff, games listed below have a 75% or above Metacritic rating, are less than $20 per game, and were released during 2003 or later. No opinions are ever made on the games listed.
