About me and this blog
I’m an award-winning journalist, columnist and blogger and the former higher education reporter for the Tucson Citizen newspaper, which closed in May 2009. Before that, I spent a number of years as a weekly family life columnist for the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and a correspondent and opinion writer for a number of Catholic newspapers. Blogging seems a natural extension of column writing, albeit with more sass and with no editor.
The blog title comes from my personal interest in religion, particularly all things Catholic. The “and more” in the blog title refers to the days I blog about things off the religious reservation. In my non-writing life, I’m an academic advisor at the University of Arizona.
