$230 million dollars over 10 years is near or close to nothing compared to the trillions that will have been added.He’s got to get it from somewhere and he’s started with the aged.In 2012 our medicare premiums is 104.20.In 2013 120.20 and in 2014 (hold your breath)247.00 a month.This is just a drop in the bucket compared to what he is going to do to the working class.But you won’t see this until after the elections when it will be too late.He’s wrong for America but he’s got you all fooled.
And just to let you know,I don’t listen to John Justice or Fox news but I’ve been on this earth long enough to see where this nation is headed and I’d rather be wrong than right.You better pray that you are right.

You really need to listed to Jon Justice & Fox News less and read independent news sources more. The ACA is hardly patterned after “socialist European medical programs”, it’s based on the Republican model of generating a lot more profits for private for-profit insurance companies as more & more of the population buy their products. A good old “socialist” option is what I and most progressive Democrats supported – a single payer, government provided option similar to VA, Medicare & Medicaid. Giffords, BTW, opposed that.
And yes, we know what’s in the law. Among other things, it reduces the nation’s deficit by $230 million over the next 10 years by controlling medical costs.

You do realize that claim you just made is factually wrong, don’t you ?

1) Insurance companies do know what is in “Obamacare” .
2) Our medical care is overly costly, but that doesn’t mean that Obamacare makes it more costly – it makes it less.
3) The “nations of europe socialist” medical care is much less costly that ours. It is our medical care system that is a “failure”, Canada’s a success.
4) Canada is not a communist country.

This is all baloney.How would you know what is in Obama care since no one,not even the idiots who passed the bill,read it.The only thing anyone knows is that it’s extremely costly to the point it has already scared the heck out of wall street.All the nations of Europe are in a socialist medical program that Obama has patterned this debacle after and the tax rate is somewhere in the area of 65% just to pay for it and they admit it’s a failure.There was no reason why Obama could not have had a program just for those who needed the assistance instead of dragging the whole Nation of which most who are the working class,what’s left of it,are against the program.Obama and his minions are pushing for not just socialism but a form of communism.

Well, I guess you’re going to be really surprised to learn that “Obamacare”, Affordable Care Act, doesn’t limit medical treatment and doesn’t try to tell medical practitioners how to practice medicine. It actually does the opposite, it expands access to medical insurance and treatment. And actually “government health care” played a large role in Gabby’s survival and recovery. Tucson has state of the art medical care and trauma treatment due primarily to government funding: taxpayer support for UA, the large number of retirees with Medicare coverage, and the large number of residents with Medicaid coverage under Arizona’s AHCCCS. And then Giffords was fortunate to have the nation’s premier medical insurance provided to each member of Congress.
And the only folks I see trying to use that horrible incident as a political tool are those who continually use her absence from Congress required by her rehab treatment as an excuse to call for her resignation.

I think it’s wonderful that Gabby has made a miraculous comeback but if she had Obamacare like they are ramming down the regular folks throats,It trully would have been a miracle and not the best medical care that only money and politics could provide. And I also feel it is time to stop using that horrible incident as a political tool.

Renee, your birthday is on January 8, and you were heading to that Beyond Bread in the same Safeway shopping center as that shooting on 1/8/11? It was also the backup date for our Tucsoncitizen.com holiday party – if you remember, but most bloggers voted for December 4, 2010 instead. I’ve known Gabby professionally for over 10 years through Democratic Party politics, and she is a strong, determined woman, and will survive this setback as well –as you have written.

Great list Renee, I’ll pick a few to work on in 2012. #4 Envy is one of the Deadly Sins and should be avoided if you can. And I like the attitude of gratitude #5, and #11, doing the right thing, which is the subject of my MLK blog on 1/16/12. And Ben’s Bells will like your #6, in spreading more kindness in this world.
