Energy Healing – Woo Woo Magic?

Meridians - Bio-energy

As I’ve mentioned before, my dad has been in the hospital after a stroke. I was visiting him the other day and experimenting with some patches that are designed to increase energy flow in the body. So I put the patches on his temples to see if it helped with his brain activity.

While I was sitting there talking to him, the nurse came in and said that his oxygen levels dropped, so she put an oxygen mask on him and clipped a monitor to his finger. She was nice enough not to ask why I had put these funny-looking patches on his head!

After a minute or so, his oxygen level raised from 88 to 92 and she was satisfied with that. It then occurred to me that these patches I put on his head just might help his oxygen level, so without saying anything to the nurse, I grabbed them and stuck them on his chest (on Lung 1 for you Acupuncturists). Immediately his oxygen level jumped to 98! The nurse was surprised, I was surprised, and my dad was just happy to be breathing better! Even after I removed the patches, his oxygen leveled out at 97.

My point is, many of us tend to think of energy healing as some sort of woo woo magic that only Shamans can do, or that its just in our imagination (us whacko healers). It’s just not that mystical, but perhaps it’s just misunderstood. Bio-energy that runs through our body is real, and not only can you clear blockages in that energy and increase its natural flow with your mind, but also with needles, tapping, and patches. It can be that simple.

Utter balderdash.  Does this Jay Dee even know what ‘energy’ is?  I’ll bet if he had put the patches on dad’s feet, the feet would have ‘gotten better.’

And, no, I don’t think Shamans can do it, either. Woo woo magic?  Hardly.  Balderdash?  Cetainly.

Actually, the patches work really well on the bottoms of your feet for overall pain relief :)

Been thinking of opening up a snake oil specialty shop in my old neighborhood, down near Golf Links & Prudence.  Would  that be close enough for most of you?

Perfect, Ado. I’m at Golf Links and Camino Seco.

Ooo hoo, jus’ down the road.  Ten years ago we would’ve been almost neighbors.  Miss the old hood. And that big apartment pool most of all …
