Football Picks Week 11

Undefeated teams: CDO 9-0 and Sunnyside 9-0

I was 14-8 last week. My total is now 127-29.

The 1A and 2A teams let me down. There were plenty of duds last week but this week makes up for it. I count at least 8 games that have power point implications. 2A and 3A playoffs underway.

I will put up my 2A and 3A Citizen All-Star teams this week.

Santa Rita needs the win to stay away from Mingus until the championship (if they get there). Palo Verde can leap over several teams and take Santa Rita’s power points with them to a 2 seed. Santa Rita is at home. Santa Rita by 10.

The second game of the week. The way the power point system works anything can happen. CDO brings so many victory points that a loss can flip the two teams. Take a look at what happened to Empire. I don’t see it happening though. Too much Ka’Deem. CDO by 10.

Catalina is ranked 16th right now. They lose and they are probably out of the playoffs. Amphi needs the win to stay away from playing at a top 5 team. Amphi wins.

Cienega needs a win to move into a top 4 seed position (potentially). Sahuaro is just waiting to see where they will play. Cienega by 17.

Nogales has a slim chance to make the playoffs with a win. They will win.

Ironwood Ridge needs to win or they might be out of the playoffs. A 5-5 record will give them a low seed. And they will win.

Tucson came close last week. They get it done this week.

Going for the win proved costly for Empire as they drop from a 1 seed to a 6 seed in one night. They beat Safford earlier 21-7. They will do it again.

Their loss to Benson sends them packing to Red Mesa. It will be hard to recover. Red Mesa by 12.

St. Johns may be a 3 seed and Thatcher a 14 seed but St. Johns got blasted by 10 seed Williams 7-56 last Friday. Thatcher has a chance and I’m giving it to them…by 3.
