038In the morning, the team concluded their final full practice before the big game on Saturday, March 20 when they face the Brussels Junior All-Star Team.

Head coach Jeff Scurran and assistant coach Andy Krause describe what it is like.

“It is always nice coaching intelligent kids,” said Scurran. “I don’t care where you are or what level you are at it if you get the chance to coach intelligent kids it’s just a beautiful thing.”

Krause adds, “This team is leaps and bounds since their first practice. They are all really good football players and they have all been coached well. We try to keep it simple. And after a couple of days they pick up on it an then we turn them loose and let them do what they do.”

After the practice, the team and family members who made the trek over to the gorgeous country of France piled into a bus to Versailles.

With still more hours in the day left, Team Stars & Stripes made their way back onto the bus to experience some more breath takings site in France – a river cruise in Paris at night.

Many know that Paris is called the ‘City of Lights’ but Team Stars & Stripes were able to experience it first hand. A memory I’m sure will stay with them the rest of their lives – being on the water, surrounded by the beautifully crafted buildings lighting up the sky. The team has driven by the Eiffel Tower each day, but every time you get struck by the awe of it.

Tomorrow Team Stars & Stripes leaves the city of Paris to visit the beaches in Normandy where Allied troops mounted the D-Day landings during World War II. Then staying the remainder of the trip in Amiens, France.
