2011 Girls Swim & Dive All-Stars

I took a look at all the qualifying times from the season, prelim times and state finals to come up with a first team, second team and third team. They are numbered 1-2-3.
Maggie McCord (CDO), 2011 Performer of the Year
Three swimmers immediately popped out as the best in Southern Arizona:
Carly Wilson (Tanque Verde) won the 100 Free in D-II and she took third in the 50 Free. She ultimately was the best in both events for Southern Arizona. Sara Borendame (Ironwood Ridge) won the 100 Breast in D-I, came in fourth in the 200 IM and was major part of two relay teams.
Maggie McCord (CDO) took the 50 Free and came in second in the 100 Free. She was also part of the fastest 400 Free relay in Southern Arizona, tipping the scales in her favor for top performer. The senior is on her way to Houston.
Borendame, Wilson and McCord are my top swimmers.
Joining McCord and Borendame for D-I honors are Brianna Leverenz and diver Megan Johnson. Leverenz posted the best times in the two long races (200 & 500) for Southern Arizona and Johnson finished second at state in an otherwise disappointing showing for divers from the south.
Joining Wilson for D-II honors are Cecelia Croman (Salpointe) and Razilee Luker (Santa Rita).
Luker was tops in two events and Croman was all over the place as an individual and part of a relay team for the surprising Salpointe girls team that came in second at state.
Croman represents all of the swimmers at Salpointe who turned in extraordinary performances in multiple events at state even though they were seeded much, much lower: swimmers such as Payton Stauch, Laura Graziano and Merideth Byl.
It took a team performance for the Salpointe girls to finish so high and they got the job done, even at the expense of sacrificing their individually preferred and strongest events.
