The (11) Empire boys lost to (22) Scottsdale Christian 58-51 on Tuesday night in Division III action. The game was played at Cienega High School.

The Tombstone/Globe game was rescheduled for Wednesday due to bad weather. (12) Rio Rico beat (21) Pinon 69-54. Rio Rico will now play (5) Window Rock at NAU on Friday in the second round.

(16) Safford beat (17) Payson. They will now have to play top seed Holbrook Friday night at NAU.

The first round for the D-I, D-II and D-III girls will begin on Wednesday night. Buena, Tucson, Pusch Ridge, Douglas and Benson will host games scheduled for 7 pm.
