The Salpointe boys pulled away early in a tri-meet held at Ft. Lowell Pool Thursday night. The Lancers beat Ironwood Ridge and St. Gregory thanks to seven first place finishes and plenty of depth.
Daniel Brauer, Colin Brust, JC Balserak and Billy Early set the tone for Salpointe by winning the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:37.24.
Brauer went on to win the 100 Free (51.26) and the Backstroke (1:00.53) and Brust took the 50 Free (24.76).
Lawrence Muldoon won the 200 Free (1:54.46) and the 500 Free (5:13.62) for Salpointe and he took part in the winning 200 Free Relay (1:37.24) along with Brust, Early and Balserak.
Sylas Cole won the 100 Butterfly (56.31) for St. Gregory.
Thomas Golden led Ironwood Ridge to a win in the 200 IM (2:14.65) and Collin Murphy won the 100 Breast (1:12.61).
The Nighthawks won the 400 Relay (3:33.03) with Golden and Murphy being joined by Jack Corkery and Craig Simmons.
The Ironwood Ridge girls got off to a tight race with Salpointe but took the last three races of the meet to pull away for their victory.
Madeline Bolin, Hayley Bradley, Dria Nickles and Caitlyn Kelley won the 200 Medley (1:48.25) for Ironwood Ridge to start the meet off but the two teams went back and forth in the individual races from there.
Natalie Ward won the 200 Free (2:01.78) for Salpointe but then Hailey Palma took the 200 IM (2:21.02) for Ironwood Ridge.
Bolin won the 50 Free (26.24) but then Michelle Trujillo took the 100 Butterfly (1:06.95) for Salpointe.
Bolin went on to win the 100 Free (56.08) but Ward won the 500 Free (5:22.80).
Salpointe pulled within two points of Ironwood Ridge after they took the 200 Free Relay (1:48.25) with Trujillo, Carly Croman, Zoe Romanoski and Laura Graziano leading the way.
The Nighthawks pulled the win out with Nickels taking the 100 Back (1:03.66) and Bradley the 100 Breast (1:14.98). Ironwood Ridge won the 400 Free Relay (3:51.93) with Maddie Hudson joining Kelley, Nickles and Bolin.

It is uncertain how complete or accurate the times are and they are not divided by division.
The former “Speedo Classic” held at Hillenbrand Stadium has been renamed to the “High School Classic” and will be held on Saturday, October 6.
The High School Classic will be hosted by the Tucson Ford Dealers Aquatics and Catalina Foothills High School.
The Marana Tiger Invite will be held a week later.
Ironwood Ridge standout Sara Borendame was on a recruiting trip to Iowa and did not swim. Borendame visited the University of Arizona last week and the All-American will visit Vanderbilt soon.
