Updated football seedings: Ironwood Ridge & Sabino top seeds

Only the top three teams from each section will automatically qualify for the state tournament and the seven at-large bids (Division I-V) will come from the AIA/MaxPreps Seedings for a total of 16 teams.
D-VI will have a field of 12 teams with three at-large bids.
The three automatic bids is an important aspect of the state playoffs. Sunnyside, even though they are ranked 15th in the D-I seedings would NOT get in the playoffs because Westview (19) and Cibola (23) would get in because they are the second and third team from Section I.
If the season ended today, Westview would get bumped up to 15th and Cibola 16th while Sunnyside would be 17th. Buena (13) would be the only D-I team from Southern Arizona in the state playoffs if the season ended today.
Ironwood Ridge (1), Salpointe (5), Cienega (6), Mountain View (11) and Rincon (13) would be in for D-II.
Sabino (1), Sahuarita (5) and Nogales (11) would get in for D-III and Empire (9) would qualify for D-IV.
Thatcher (7), Benson (10) and Willcox (11) would make it for D-V and Duncan (9) and St. David (12) would get in for D-VI.
D-I Championship will be at University of Phoenix Stadium (November 24, 1 pm).
