Catalina was upset in 5 sets in Division III action Friday night in Prescott Valley but Safford took out top seed Campo Verde to get to the semifinal round.

Madison Irwin had 21 kills and 15 digs to lead Catalina. Chloe Cox had 48 assists and Nykole Adun added 15 kills.

If Safford beats Monument Valley they will play in the championship match Saturday night.

Thatcher moved on to the D-IV semifinal round.

St. David beat St. Augustine in D-V play but then fell in the second round as did Duncan. Desert Christian was upset in the first round in five sets.
