The Tucsoncitizen.com was the first to bring Southern Arizona the news of the initial Divisional Placements, appeals and final placements so now let’s take a look at the initial Sectional Placements released today by the AIA.

Schools have until January 10 to appeal their section placements. Everything will be finalized on January 22.

As an example, football for Division II has been broken up into two sections for the Southern Arizona teams:

DIVISION II

There are seven sections and each team will be required to play their sectional opponent, leaving five open dates to schedule. (Section II and VII have seven teams in them).

Vista Grande is located in Casa Grande and is generally considered a Phoenix-area team and will remain that way for my reporting.
