Former Buena standout Darius Kelly to Syracuse
by Andy Morales on Dec. 21, 2012, under SportsFormer Buena standout Darius Kelly signed his letter of intent to play with Syracuse a couple of weeks after he gave a verbal commitment to play for Marshall.
Kelly had many more options on the table thanks to his performance at Pima over the last two years where he earned first team honors as a defensive back in the ACCAC. Kelly’s options were limited after high school because he suffered a season-ending broken arm during the fourth game of his senior year but he hooked on at Pima and worked his way to a scholarship at the next level.
Other current NCAA D-I football players from Buena include, Jamal Womble (Northern Illinois), Laurence Gibson (Virginia Tech) and DeAndre Little (UTEP).
