With one week left in the schedule, this is how the basketball sectionals are playing out. The top eight teams from each sectional will qualify. The sectionals are used to get a better grip on which teams will be the top seeds for the state tournament.

The top 24 teams will play at state with the top four from each sectional getting an automatic bid. A few of the teams that qualify for sectionals will not make it to the state tournament. Likewise, some teams that don’t make it to sectional will make it to state.

These are the teams that need to make some sort of move this week if they want to make it to state: Ironwood Ridge girls, Douglas girls, Sunnyside boys, Rincon boys and Mountain View boys.
