College signings updates: Gordon Longville to Western New Mexicoby Andy Morales on Feb. 24, 2013, under Sports
Former CDO standout Troy Kunow moved to Wyoming and will not be playing for the Dorados this spring. Kunow will sit out this year but he will be playing college ball at CSU-Pueblo thanks to the efforts of former Arizona baseball coach Jerry Stitt.
TucsonCitizen.com First Team selection Gordon Longville will be attending Western New Mexico University. Longville will take part in Ironwood Ridge’s spring signing day activities. His younger sister Randi is a freshman pitcher for the Canyon del Oro softball team.
TJ Gudeman signed a letter of intent to continue his wrestling career at Northwestern College (Iowa).
Gudeman went 38-8 his senior season at Cienega and 135-38 during his career. Gudeman won the Arizona State Championship in 2013 after finishing third in 2012. He qualified for the state tournament four time in his high school career.
“We are very excited to get TJ to NWC,” said head coach Rik Dahl. “He comes from a strong program and has experienced success, we need that in our room. In addition, TJ is a quality young man who has great potential to grow into a leader for us in future years. Getting him on board was a huge priority for us and this is a good day for NWC wrestling.”
TJ’s older brother Brett is a sophomore at Northwestern College. Brett also won a state championship while at Cienega.
