Former Ironwood Ridge standout Robin Landrith hits home run to help Baylor beat ASU
by Andy Morales on Mar. 04, 2013, under SportsFormer Ironwood Ridge catcher Robin Landrith hit her first collegiate home run Sunday afternoon to help the No. 20 Baylor Bears upset No. 3 Arizona State 6-2 at the Wilson/DeMarini Invitational held in Tempe.
Baylor handed ASU pitcher Dallas Escobedo her first loss of the season.
Landrith played second base and went 2-3 with two RBIs. Landrith has played in all 22 games (19-3) this year and started in 21 of them.
Landrith faced a former Nighthawk teammate when the Bears played North Carolina on Friday to start the Invitational off. Erin Satterfield played second base for the Tarheels and she went 2-3 to help North Carolina upset Baylor 3-2. Season stats are not readily available for NC.
Former Catalina Foothills catcher Megan Morrison also plays for North Carolina and ASU went on to beat North Carolina 7-4 at the Invitational.
