Former Ironwood Ridge catcher Robin Landrith hit her first collegiate home run Sunday afternoon to help the No. 20 Baylor Bears upset No. 3 Arizona State 6-2 at the Wilson/DeMarini Invitational held in Tempe.
Baylor handed ASU pitcher Dallas Escobedo her first loss of the season.
Landrith played second base and went 2-3 with two RBIs. Landrith has played in all 22 games (19-3) this year and started in 21 of them.
Landrith faced a former Nighthawk teammate when the Bears played North Carolina on Friday to start the Invitational off. Erin Satterfield played second base for the Tarheels and she went 2-3 to help North Carolina upset Baylor 3-2. Season stats are not readily available for NC.
Former Catalina Foothills catcher Megan Morrison also plays for North Carolina and ASU went on to beat North Carolina 7-4 at the Invitational.
