Sahuaro to raise funds for Zoë Montaño; cheerleader diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcomaby Andy Morales on Oct. 15, 2013, under Sports
The Sahuaro High School Girl’s volleyball team will hold their annual Cougars Care Night on Tuesday, October 22 during their home game against Cienega. This year the team has chosen to support fellow student and cheerleader, Zoë Montaño.
Zoë was diagnosed over the summer with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a type of rare bone cancer that affects mostly teenagers and young adults. Her amazing attitude and positive outlook inspire and touch so many people. The volleyball team wants to encourage and support Zoë in her fight. They ask that you join them for a great cause and some great volleyball.
Zoë will be attending Sahuaro’s home games tonight between JV (5:30) and Varsity (6:30). She will be presented with flowers. She will be having surgery to remove some cancerous bone next Wednesday, October 23 and will not be able to attend the Cougars Care Night.
