Rincon/University Volleyball joins with Sahuaro to raise funds for Zoë Montaño; cheerleader diagnosed with Ewing’s Sarcomaby Andy Morales on Oct. 27, 2013, under Sports
The Rincon/University volleyball team is dedicating their Senior Night to help raise funds for Zoë Montaño when the two schools meet for the last regular match of the season at Rincon High Wednesday October 30.
Zoë was diagnosed over the summer with Ewing’s Sarcoma, a type of rare bone cancer that affects mostly teenagers and young adults. Zoë had successful surgery on Wednesday, October 23 to remove some cancerous bone and is currently recovering.
After becoming aware of Zoë’s condition through the TucsonCitizen.com, the Rincon/University volleyball team wanted to help out and join the Sahuaro volleyball team in raising funds for such an important cause.
“We are very blessed that Tucson has such a great volleyball community. The Rincon Rangers’ generosity is overwhelming” said Sahuaro volleyball booster president Eva McDonough.
Rincon/University Senior Night to raise funds to help Zoë and her family. Donations and Snack Bar proceeds will go to the “Strike out Cancer for Zoë Montaño” fund at Wells Fargo bank.
Freshman game starts at 4:30 pm followed by JV at 5:30 pm and Varsity at 6:30 pm.
Adults & Students – $4
Age 6 and under – Free
