A Latino Military Veteran “Brain Dead” in Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s Prison – Arpaio is equivalent to Alabama’s “Bull” Connor

by on Dec. 18, 2011, under 2012 Presidential elections, Hispanic Latino Vote, Latina matriarch political movement, Mike Stauffer for Sheriff to Replace Joe Arpaio, National tequila party movement

I am am absolutely appalled with Sheriff Joe Arpaio and the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office.  As a former veteran who served in the capacity of a law enforcement officer as an explosives canine handler, this act by Arpaio and his minions speaks volumes with regard to their unprofessionalism and incompetent ability to run the affairs of a prison system.

Which of Arpaio’s henchmen had vengeance in their hearts to conduct over abuse?

I believe the government needs to step in with regard to continued negligence and abuse happening here in our State of Arizona the same way they had to in Alabama when Governor George Wallace allowed his Police Commissioner Eugene “Bull” Connor police dogs to be unleashed during the Civil Rights era. Governor Jan Brewer is our George Wallace equivalent and Arpaio is the equivalent to “Bull” Connor (a stain in Alabama’s history).   It is an absolute outrage for Arpaio the gestapo Latino bully to continue his affairs as the Maricopa County Sheriff.  He must be removed.  He continues to violate Civil Rights and believes he is above the law.

I will never forget when I heard him speak at a GOP meeting making jokes about the mysterious Mexican immigrants in his prison.  I’m certain he will joke about one of our military Latino veterans who served in our country only to face abuse in his prison.

We need the President of the United States — President Obama, to oust Sheriff Joe Arpaio.  The day Congresswoman Gabby Giffords was shot,  Sheriff Clarence Dupnik was accurate when he said at his press conference following the shooting: “Arizona I think has become sort of the Capital. We have become the Mecca for prejudice and bigotry.”

Dupnik is right, because we believe Arizona is the new Birmingham, Alabama. Governor Jan Brewer is our George Wallace, and Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Tom Horne, Senator Russell Pearce and John Kavanagh, Bill Montgomery are our Police Commissioner Eugene “Bull” Connor as they continue to unleash their 287(g) police dogs. And it is time for Hispanics to start reporting hate crimes and threats to the FBI, and it is time for the FBI to do a thorough investigation on known hate groups and their ties — beginning with the State of Arizona.

We are tired of seeing the unjust bloodshed.  What makes this incident very personal to me is the fact that so many Latinos serve our country proudly.  And for what?  To have our rights violated by pismires who trample on our Constitutional rights?

A distraught Mike Atencio, on his way to the hospital to watch his brother Ernest “Marty” Atencio die, told me today that he and his family believe his brother was “murdered” by Sheriff Joe Arpaio’s thugs in the Fourth Avenue Jail.

“The sheriff’s office murdered my brother,” said Atencio, acting as spokesperson for his family. “That’s what I want to get out to the public right now: Sheriff Joe is murdering inmates.”

Atencio said he was told by MCSO Detective Bryan Cluff that his brother was found in his cell without a pulse. This, after being Tasered by detention officers and placed there. He was already dead before being rushed to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix.

“To me it’s just a ploy, what the sheriff’s office has done to this point in time,” Atencio told me. “They found him without a pulse. They brought him to the hospital to resuscitate him. It doesn’t look very promising…He’s hanging by a very thin thread.”
