Russell Pearce wants $261,000.00 of Arizona taxpayer monies? Andy Biggs sets up framework for request

by on May. 03, 2012, under Russell pearce Special Elections Recall

Even though Russell Pearce  did not spend any of his own money in the campaign but raised and spent nearly $261,000 in donations from individuals and political committees, the frameworks for him to seek repayment could lead to the state writing him a check.

According to the Arizona Republic, an Arizona legislative committee on Wednesday passed an amendment that sets up a framework for recalled Sen. Russell Pearce to seek repayment for costs incurred during the recall election. If Pearce requests the money, it could lead to the state writing a check for about $261,000 directly to the former Mesa lawmaker.

Shame on R-Gilbert Andy Biggs for supporting the framework system for a request that gives a recalled candidate taxpayer money.  Is this another hypocritical stance of the less government Republicans who want to help foot the bill for a lawmaker who was ousted by tax payers?  Where are those tea party members at when they are the ones who pride themselves on less government wasteful spending?

Perhaps Andy Biggs can explain why he feels it is necessary to set up the framework for any recalled candidate to be “reimbursed” using our taxpaying dollars?  If this thing passes, Biggs will receive the money in the toilet award for 2012.
