Texas Senate Races: David Dewhurst political ad against Ted Cruz on Amnesty is the Truth
by Dee Dee Garcia Blase on May. 27, 2012, under 2012 United states senate races, Hispanic Latino Vote, Independent voter centrist moderate swing vote, Rise of Mexican-American / Chicano leaders as political realignment shapes in the southwest, Women VotersWhy is everyone pretending that Texas Senate Candidate Ted Cruz is not in support of amnesty under the Cuban Adjustment Act (CAA)?
Indeed the CAA offers special amnesty privileges to Cuban immigrants that is not afforded to the Mexicans in Texas. In fact, Cubans fly to Mexico and avoid shark deaths on the shores of Florida by flying into Mexico these days so that they can benefit from the wet-foot-dry-foot policy. Has Ted Cruz ever come out against Cuban amnesty? I don’t believe so. Therefore, David Dewhurst is right about Cruz.
Did you know that our taxes are paying for government benefits afforded to the Cuban immigrants? Don’t get me wrong … I support the Cuban Adjustment Act, but I also want to see a Mexican Adjustment Act, too. Someday, Cuban Republican politicians are going to have to come to the realization that Mexicans, Hondurans, Central Americans, and other Latin ethnic groups who do NOT receive the amnesty that is afforded to the Cubans are keeping score now — particularly in the southwest. More importantly, Ted Cruz has shown NO strong leadership in LEGAL immigration reform that would help Latinos in Texas.
Below is the political ad that has everyone shaking in the their western boots deep in the heart of Tejas … [oops, I misspoke, we all know the Ivy leaguer (Ted Cruz) more than likely does not own a pair of cowboy boots].
