Robert McDonald: MCDP Chair Ann Wallack admitted to spoiling the vote in Maricopa County Sheriff’s race
by Dee Dee Garcia Blase on Jun. 11, 2012, under 2012 Arizona Elections, Hispanic Latino Vote, Independent voter centrist moderate swing voteIt is no wonder the independent voters in Arizona make up the 2nd largest party in our state. More and more Americans are becoming independent voters because of the partisan tactics and corruption involved across the board. Come November 6, 2012 — election night, we will have a list of people who helped spoil the Maricopa County Sheriff’s office race. According to Robert McDonald, the embattled MCDP Chair Ann Wallack has admitted to actively pursuing and recruiting former Phoenix Police Sgt. Paul Penzone to run for Maricopa County Sheriff despite the presence of another Democratic Candidate in the race, John Rowan. It gets worse, a registered independendent candidate via Mike Stauffer was the first one to make the official announcement against Sheriff Joe Arpaio and has had broad bipartisan backing.
The goal here is to defeat Joe Arpaio and avoiding “sham candidates” with the goal of spoiling votes in Maricopa County races. Mike Stauffer submitted almost 30,000 signatures (almost 5 times the endorsements Penzone received). Penzone was a mere sergeant with no command experience. For those who don’t know how law enforcement works, Maricopa County voters will look at leadership experience in order to entrust their vote to someone who wants to run the the sheriff’s department that represents the 3rd largest county in the Country. The Arizona Democratic Party is silly to give Maricopa County voters a candidate with no leadership experience. Only two candidates have leadership experience that will beat Arpaio: 1) (Independent Candidate) Mike Stauffer who is a lieutenant and 2) (Democratic Candidate) John Rowan who has experience as an assistant to a police chief.
Shame on Ann Wallack for introducing candidates that will spoil the vote. Come November 6th, we will hang her Paul Penzone loss around her neck like we did with Olivia Cortes when Russell Pearce’s cronies tried to introduce candidates that would have spoiled the vote. Olivia Cortes was recruited to run as a fraudulent and diversionary candidate by Senator Russell Pearce supporters. It appears Ann Wallack is doing the same thing with regard to the Maricopa County Sheriff Office race.
This is not the first time someone has shed light on the Arizona Democratic Party. We found a very interesting Huff Post Politico article that I think pretty much says it like it is from Dawn Teo regarding a Dem Party Mutiny in Arizona. It’s from 3 yrs ago and one of the “Six Activists” was Geoff Esposito, current paid campaign manager for Citizens for Better Arizona (CBA).
Robert McDonald was a former Democratic Chair for his district and is a Democratic voter in Arizona. Robert Hernandez McDonald Jr. is also proud to be a Democrat, A Democratic PC and State Committeeman and wants to take back his party from special interests and is selling t-shirts to express the revolution. He writes:
With the recent protests against the Arizona Democratic Party (ADP) and Maricopa County Democratic Party
(MCDP), and very recent criticism of Citizens for a Better Arizona (CBA), one would have to wonder “Is the Progressive Left is falling apart in Arizona?”. The Primary election is scheduled for August 28, 2012, and protesters calling for reform, The Reformers, are charging that the leadership of the Arizona Democratic Party has been picking candidates before the primary election is even held. Historically, it was the policy of both the Maricopa Democratic Party and the Arizona Democratic Party to hold off support of any specific candidate until after the primary election. Apparently that policy has been revoked and it is now Open Season to support candidates before the primaries.
Why is an organization that purports to work in the interest of the public, The Citizens for a Better Arizona (CBA), working to silence criticism? Let’s consider the combined actions of the ADP, the MCDP, and CBA, with regards to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s race: Embattled MCDP Chair Ann Wallack has admitted to actively pursuing and recruiting former Phoenix Police Sgt. Paul Penzone to run for Maricopa County Sheriff despite the presence of another Democratic Candidate in the race, John Rowan. Mr. Rowan has been denied Voter Access File (VAN) access and Maricopa County Democratic Party Chair Ann Wallack punished an LD vice chair, by taking away Voter Access File access, simply for inviting Mr. Rowan to speak at an LD meeting. Mr. Rowan’s campaign has not been able to gain any traction because he has been stymied by Ms. Wallack’s efforts.
