(Video) Democratic registered voter supports Mike Stauffer for Maricopa County Sheriff
by Dee Dee Garcia Blase on Sep. 21, 2012, under 2012 Arizona Elections, Hispanic Latino Vote, Independent voter centrist moderate swing voteAngel Garcia is a grassroots organizer in Maricopa County. He is also a registered Democratic voter who votes independently. In the video below, Angel explains why he is supporting Independent candidate Mike Stauffer for sheriff. Mike Stauffer has a broad support from Independents, Republicans, Libertarians, and Democrats. In fact, a former Arpaio supporter and a 50 year Republican withdrew his support from Arpaio and is now backing Independent Candidate Mike Stauffer for Sheriff. Mike Stauffer is Joe Arpaio’s strongest opponent.
The demographics in Maricopa County are as follows:
36% registered Republicans voters
35% registered Independents voters (supporting Prop 121 that is now on the ballot)
29% registered Democratic voters
Things have changed since 2008. Independents now make up the 2nd largest party in Maricopa County and the Democratic Party has lost approximately 52,000 registered Democratic voters.
Mike Stauffer was the first candidate to put his hat into this race and is the only one with the qualifications to beat Arpaio. Stauffer has no skeletons in his closet unlike Paul Penzone who has a domestic violence history and Glendale Police Report within his background.
