Mexican-Americans – Leadership Needs To Arise From the Community Hurting the Most on Immigrationby Dee Dee Garcia Blase on Sep. 13, 2013, under Legal Immigration Reform, Mexican-American / Chicano political activism, Mexican-Americans and Chicanos are patriotic, veteran voters
Leadership needs to arise from the community hurting the most. It is a fact the majority getting deported are of Mexican descent.
There are faux organizers and politicians like Sen. Ted Cruz who was born in Canada and son of Cuban immigrant who is trying to be the “Hispanic / Latino” voice. Mexicans are pushing back against these “Hispanic / Latino” leaders who BENEFIT from the Mexican-American population numbers. Ted Cruz did not support the gang of eight comprehensive immigration reform.
Chicanos are pushing back. We can speak for ourselves and it is time for the ‘dog to wag the tail’ — not the other way around.
