THE HEART OF LUCHA

The HeART of LUCHA is an all ages, family friendly event produced by San Diego based Entertainment Industry veteran Ruben Torres. In collaboration with local Non-Profit “LOVE THY NEIGHBOR MOVEMENT” as we continue in the effort to promote art/artists and bring additional value to the local art communities. “Our goal is to create opportunities for new and seasoned Artists to display their skills & talent and to grow the Latino Art community for the benefit of the Artists, Galleries, Curators, Musicians, and fans.” Ruben Torres
Collaborating with over 100 artists throughout Southern California, Mexico, Chicago, Kansas, and The United Kingdom. Displaying every caliber of artists on the same platform: as the roster includes street artists, tattoo artists, prison artists, and award winning cartoonists, all sharing the same wall space making this the largest LUCHA LIBRE inspired art exhibition in the nation.
Also featuring a handful of extremely talented elementary school artists allowing them to display their talent with the more popular of today’s artists including 5-year-old painting sensation Osmar Pete Hernandez.
Adding to the Lucha experience, will be; an outdoor Mercado produced by The Craft Monsters, Live Music by world renown Latin band THE B-SIDE PLAYERS and DJ BETO PEREZ, food vendors, live Lucha Libre matches with many well known and emerging Luchadores, TV Personalities, Musicians, Political Activists, live mask making, live art, live airbrushing, and elaborate décor.
Holding this “Brown Carpet” event in San Diego’s historic Centro Cultural de la Raza, (in Balboa Park) will attract crowds from all over Southern California and Tijuana, having the success of last years event having over 3000 in attendance, we anticipate double that this year. With the growing popularity of Lucha Libre in pop-culture, the audience will be embedded with a lasting impression of the Latino Arts & Culture. According to artists in the local Art community “this is already being called the most anticipated art event of the year!!”
