Most everyone will agree that the immigration system is broken, and immigration must be fixed at the federal level since the immigration law is protected under the Supremacy Clause of our United States Constitution.

In the coming weeks, we will indeed keep a watchful eye on the RNC to see if they really are in support of the economy. As you may already know, legal immigration will enhance the economy and it appears the RNC leadership continues to be silent to that regard.

According to a recent New York Times article:

“Immigrants contribute more in tax and social contributions than they get in individual benefits,” said Jean-Christophe Dumont, the O.E.C.D. official who headed the study. “That’s why the net fiscal impact is mostly positive.”

Yet, the RNC leadership continues to be silent on the economic positive impact of legal immigration.

NBC News discusses the RNC’s silence in depth below:

Just three months ago, the Republican Party establishment couldn’t have been more resolute: Achieving immigration reform is essential to the GOP’s future political viability.

A post-election autopsy commissioned by the Republican National Committee insisted that the party “must embrace and champion comprehensive immigration reform” or else risk that the GOP would “continue to shrink to its core constituencies only.”

….

The RNC report, which was released three months ago, was striking in its urgency – in part because as a political committee, the RNC rarely stakes out policy positions. But, as the report noted, immigration reform has become a “litmus test” among Hispanic voters, an increasingly important voting bloc that went for President Barack Obama by 44 points over Mitt Romney last fall.

But the RNC and many other instruments of Republican politics have mostly sat quietly as a bruising intraparty fight plays out on Capitol Hill.

Many other politically savvy Republicans echoed the RNC report’s language on immigration when it debuted almost three months ago.

Since then? Silence, mostly. The RNC hasn’t aired any ads or posted any videos looking to give Republican lawmakers the cover they need to support the immigration reform law now before the Senate;

Most everyone will agree that the immigration system is broken, and immigration must be fixed at the federal level since the immigration law is protected under the Supremacy Clause of our United States Constitution.

The Republican Party has been hijacked by dixiecrat and unreasonable Tea Party extremists, and weak leadership will drive the entire Party into the ground.

Talk is cheap, Priebus. If you really want “Hispanic” outreach … create ads and new messaging with regard to the positive economic impacts of legal immigration reform.

The aforementioned will go down in American history as politicians who voted to save their political necks in the “south” instead of standing on the right side of immigration. Their legacy will be one of not continuing the great immigrant story our United States stands for as we try to continue to be that global beacon.

President of SOMOS INDEPENENTS writes:

On June 6, 2013, U.S. Representative Steve King (R-IA) introduced an amendment to the Homeland Security Appropriations Bill, HR 2217, which stops funding for the Department of Homeland Security to process Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) applications and allow prosecutorial discretion to DREAMERS. Unbelievable, three U.S. Democratic Representatives, John Barrow (D-Ga.), Nick Rahall (D-W.V.), and Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.) supported and voted for King’s amendment to defund the DACA program. Are some of the Southern leaders in the Democratic Party becoming Dixiecrats like Senator James Strom Thurmond? Here is another fine example of why I went from being a Democrat to being an Independent. We must remember that five much needed Democratic Senators forsaken Hispanics and our community’s children in the last DREAM Act vote, by not supporting the passage of the DREAM Act. Now, we have three Democratic Representatives who have also forsaken our children/DREAMERS, once again. When will the Democratic Party, all stand-up for our immigrant children, including our LGBT immigrant children?

Apparently, the three Democratic Representatives that supported King’s amendment are confused. They say that they support “children and education,” but yet they vote for an amendment that cuts funding to allow our DREAM children to become legally presence DACA recipients.” This is the very reason why there are more Hispanic Democrats that are changing their political affiliation to the Independent Party. The Democratic Party needs to be reminded that they do NOT have the ‘Hispanic Vote’ all locked-up for the up-coming 2016 election and must start act accordingly. Yes, the GOP cannot control their extremists like Cruz, Sessions, Grassley, and King, who are currently helping the GOP to commit political suicide by their xenophobic actions against DREAMERS, CIR, and mixed-status families. But, if the GOP could exorcise the evilness out of their party and welcome Hispanics back into their fold, they could win the Presidency again, remember we voted Bush in.

Please send the DNC Chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz and tell her to instruct the DNC to stop funding these democratic political campaigns. You can contact her directly here. Or you can contact the DNC here.

Remind the DNC there are approximately 500,000 new registered Latin voters every year (most are of Mexican descent) and we are the fastest growing demographic in the Nation.

Tell the DNC that we expect to see the same fervor they used with regard to the immigration issue as we saw when they were tackling the healthcare debate.

We want them to pull out all stops because we are tired of this decade long immigration debate.

WE ARE SIMPLY TIRED OF THIS ISSUE. We refuse to be political futbols and the political games — and this is precisely why there are rising independent registered voters across our Nation today.

We all know that the immigration system is broken, and we want to see the much legal immigration reform that will economically benefit our Nation and the retiring baby boomers.

Bottom line: New immigrant taxpayers will fund social security and government benefits our elderly needs!

If we don’t see the same passion from the democrats they expressed on health care … we will remember because this issue directly affects the core of our hearts.

We are standing by and hope to see the DNC give a verbal spanking to the 3 Democrats who voted with Steve King’s bigotry. We cannot afford to lose one single Democratic vote on the issue of legal immigration reform that is being discussed this week!

Rep. King (R-IA) wants to keep criminal immigrants longer in the U.S. than DREAMers.

On June 6, 2013, U.S. Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) sponsored an amendment to the 2014 Department of Homeland Security spending bill, HR 2217, which defunds President Obama’s Executive Orders that allow ICE officials to focus their deportation efforts on undocumented convicted criminal immigrants instead of innocent documented noncriminal immigrants who were brought to the U.S. as young children (DREAMERS). Apparently, Rep. King believes convicted criminal immigrants without legal status are less significant to get out of our country than innocent children that are now documented and have legal presence via DHS’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) process.

Seemingly, according to Rep. King’s amendment, documented ‘DREAMERS/DACA Recipients’ who were bought to our country as innocent young children, educated as aspiring U.S. Americans in our school systems, who are high school graduates and many, who are also college educated or college students, who have no criminal history, are far more essential to deport than undocumented convicted criminal immigrants. The documented DACA recipients with legal presence and no criminal record are condemned by King’s amendment and the convicted criminals without legal presence are now once again allowed a lower priority for deportation purposes according to King’s misguided line of thinking.

Yes, U.S. Rep. King, let’s deport legally presence innocent documented non-criminals immigrants (DREAMERS/DACA recipients) and keep the convicted criminal immigrants without documentation here in our country instead. Are you so blinded by your own bias that you cannot see the trees because of the forest? Rep. King, you need to be reminded that unless you are a Native American Indian, you, too, had a DREAMER in your family when your ancestors first immigrated to this country from another continent. Shame on you!

Dear Republican Party,

“DREAMers” may not be able to vote, but you can bet your bottom dollar that Mexican – Americans can vote on behalf of them. You just committed political suicide for the 2016 elections. The entire House GOP just voted to deport all DREAM Act kids / youth. The House of Representatives has just approved Steve King’s anti-immigrant amendment by 224 in favor & 201 against which would restrict DHS from ANY discretion in immigration enforcement, possibly eliminating Deferred Action.

Did you not learn the lessons of 2012 when Mexican-Americans / Latinos and women voted overwhelmingly for pro immigrant politicians?

Need I remind you that Mexican-Americans account for almost 70% of the entire “Latin” population pie, and they are also the fastest growing population in the country.

We await the United States Senate as we compile a list of those who stood on the right side of immigration vs. those who do not stand on the right side of immigration. Mexican-Americans who CAN vote are already looking ahead to 2016, because we are well aware of the approximate 500,000 new coming of age Latin voter per year.

Rep. Steve King is putting the GOP on the path to extinction. All one has to do is understand simple concepts of math, and now more than ever we need LEGAL immigration reform that will fix the clearly broken immigration system.

To mi gente:

Please call Congress and ask them to support legal comprehensive immigration reform now.

It is free to call Congress asking them to support immigration reform and you can do so by calling the TOLL FREE NUMBER: 866-338-1015.

What is it with Republican Mormons who do not practice what the Mormon religion teaches?

We saw the 2012 Republican candidate Mitt Romney (also a Mormon) make a key

According to the Southern Poverty Law Center:

In the most general terms, SPLC lists FAIR as the organization that has probably done more to inject fear and bigotry into the national immigration debate than any other. FAIR’s demonizing propaganda, aimed primarily at Latinos and often Catholics; its ties to other hate groups and hiring of their members; and its push for laws promoting racial discord around the country have been instrumental in creating the anti-immigrant backlash America is currently suffering through.

It’s no wonder we see more and more Mexican-Americans separating themselves from the Republican “Latinos” who do not support a legal immigration reform fix to the clearly broken immigration system. Republican Cuban-American Sen Ted Cruz does not support legal immigration reform, and now we see another “Hispanic Republican” and Puerto Rico-born Labrador jumping the legal immigration reform fix now. [Why am I not surprised?]

Need I remind you that Mexican-Americans account for almost 70% of the entire “Latin” population pie?

It’s time for the dog to wag the tail — not the other way around and that reality is coming soon.

Mexican-Americans are also the fastest growing population in the country.

Shame on Rep. Labrador. Of all people, he should know how much the Idaho agricultural community depends on Mexican immigrant work ethic, and it’s high time the farmers of Idaho hold him accountable before they lose their farms for lack of labor.

We are gonna keep our eye on Mr. Labrador and the Mormon community because I know many Mormons live in Idaho.

Will the Mormon leadership support Labrador who has jumped the legal immigration reform ship?

Talk is cheap, and we are looking to action these days. By the end of summer, we will all know who was there for us when we were down and out. I hope to see Mormon leadership take Labrador to the woodshed because Raul seems to be a “Hispanic” when it’s convenient.

Labrador does not support what most Mexican-American families support and we have been struggling and supporting legal immigration for over a decade now. This is a crucial time for us.

Robert McDonald is a precinct committeeman for the Arizona Democratic Party. While some people go downtown demanding and using the same mundane rhetoric for Arpaio to resign (in essence having no affect) … there are other people who know the root of the problem resides at the federal level since immigration is protected under the Supremacy Clause of our United States Constitution. Pointed efforts should be for people to call Congress asking them to support immigration reform.

Sometimes mainstream media will forget to tell you the voice of the regular people. It’s important for my audience to see what the “local” reaction is of the failed recall Joe Arpaio effort from the standpoint from the ordinary local.

Robert’s voice is important because he helped Arizonans for Better Government in the first recall against the ousted Senator Russell Pearce (there were two recalls). Robert is a former Republican who turned Democrat because of the anti-immigrant growing sentiment in Arizona. He also lives in Mesa, Arizona — home of the Mormon temple and is familiar with the demographics there.

Arizona Senate President Russell Pearce, R-Mesa, is the target of a recall petition.

A community organization called Arizonans for Better Government filed the paperwork with the Secretary of State’s Office Thursday afternoon, saying they will seek as many as 15,000 signatures as part of their recall effort. … The action comes as two state lawmakers filed bills to challenge the citizenship of illegal immigrants’ children. The legislation aims to establish that an Arizona citizen must be a U.S. citizen, and would define a U.S. citizen as someone who is born in the United States and has at least one parent who is a U.S. citizen or a U.S. naturalized citizen.

Here is what Robert has to say:

Robert Hernanez McDonald Jr. (D-Mesa)

Elected Democratic Precinct Committeeman

Guerrero Precinct – County of Maricopa

Twenty-Sixth Legislative District

June 3, 2013

Dear Citizens and voters of Maricopa County:

Tonight I write this letter to express my disappointment in the failure of the recall against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

As many people are aware, I was part of the first recall organization to remove former Senate President Russell Pearce in early 2011 and a political campaign in my primary race against current Arizona Legislative District 26 Representative Andrew Sherwood during the 2010 Democratic Primary for the Arizona State Senate for the old Legislative District 18. So as you can see I a perspective and the right to criticize the management and operation of Respect Arizona.

Since the end of the last election cycle, we knew that Sheriff Arpaio was unbeatable despite pulling in just under 51% of the vote, by defeating Paul Penzone and Mike Stauffer. Local political pundits were saying that any recall would be a fool’s errand and a huge money making venture for the Sheriff and his minions. This was proven correct with the demise of the recall.

I initially supported the recall of Sheriff Arpaio because I believed that it was the right thing to do. I personally called for the removal of Sheriff Arpaio as far back as 2009 by recall or by federal indictment. The federal indictment never came and the recall was a colossal mismanaged failure.

So where does the blame lay? I put the blame of the failure of this recall squarely at the feet of those in charge of managing this organization. I place the blame on those who squandered over $1.3 million dollars and I place the blame on those who chose not to be completely transparent by telling the public and their volunteers the signature count with weekly updates and by not being judicious with donor’s money and resources. In addition, I place the blame on Randy Parraz for using his organization as a backdoor fundraising mechanism for Citizens for a Better Arizona and forcing this issue way too soon after the 2012 election.

So where do we go from here? We must now work to change 50 years of conservative Republican rule in Arizona and rid ourselves of the tea party extremists that haunt the halls of our state capitol. We must also fix our criminal justice system especially the offices of sheriff, justice of the peace and the county attorney. We must remove the politics from these offices and convert them to non-partisan offices because these important cogs in our criminal justice system should not be political footballs.

We must remove the authority of handling the jails from the county sheriff for our most populous counties because as we have seen the jail system used for political grandstanding and turn them back over to the power of the people by electing a county corrections commission to oversee the operation and to protect our jail tax dollars from being misspent. In addition we must insist that all our incumbents be required to debate for reelection regardless if they are Clean Elections candidates or traditional candidates by enacting legislation by either voter initiative or legislatively because an incumbent has a duty to the voters to defend their records while in office.

We as voters and responsible consumers must have the ability to know where our donations are going and how they are used. We must insist that organizations like Citizens for a Better Arizona be more transparent and we must pass laws to prohibit leadership of these so called organizations to pay themselves consulting fees or make other income from the blood, sweat, tears, and the hard earned money that people donate for a cause they believe in. When a member of management in these organizations takes home 30% or more of these donations, it is clear that these are nothing more than money making generators for those in power.

It is important that we learn from the lessons of the failure of this recall, so that we do not repeat them in the future.

Thank you and God bless us and God bless this great state of Arizona.

Most Sincerely,

Mr. Robert Hernandez McDonald Jr. (D-Mesa)

Elected Precinct Committeeman

26th Legislative District

Unfortunately, Cruz has forgotten that we also have a legacy of slavery, the Indian Wars, Chinese exclusion laws, the Jim Crow Laws, etc., which is why immigration reform is so necessary in regards to immigration law. It is a bit hypocritical for Cruz to be so anti-immigrant when his own father was a Cuban immigrant.

Somos Independents is a Mexican-American and woman-led movement that encourages Latinos to vote and participate in the political process. It is an organization that supports immigration reform that will help grow our economy while fixing the broken immigration system.

Shirl Mora James made the above statement in light of discovering how Cruz has flip flopped his immigration position. Republican critics now scoff at the Texan’s opposition to a pathway to citizenship because they know his history.

According to The Atlantic:

Bush, a self-described “compassionate conservative,” went on to win the presidency and champion a law that would have allowed millions of illegal immigrants to earn citizenship. Cruz went on to win election to the Senate from Texas as a hero of the tea party movement and emerge as a sharp critic of a pathway to citizenship in the latest attempt at immigration reform on Capitol Hill.

The route Cruz chose, from working on the reform-minded Bush campaign to voting against the bill Wednesday as a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, confounds some of those who crossed paths with him. His role on the Bush campaign is a lesser-known part of the biography of a politician increasingly viewed as a potential presidential contender in 2016.

“I’m disappointed in Ted because he’s a very bright, articulate lawyer with a substantial base of knowledge about immigration,” said Houston lawyer Charles Foster, who advised the Bush campaign on immigration and said he worked closely with Cruz. “But instead of using that knowledge, he’s acting like a typical politician and just talking about the border being out of control.”

FULL STORY HERE>>>

Cuban-American Cruz becomes the convenient “Hispanic” while he stabs the many Mexican-American families living in Texas in the back. The majority of the Latin population in the United States (almost 70%) and in Texas are of Mexican descent. He wants the media to go to him on Hispanic issues, but does not vote what the majority of us are screaming for in our communities.

It’s no wonder DREAM Act activists all across the Nation have been referring to him as a “vendido.”

Follow the money … Jeff Sessions received approximately $286.5 K from Energy & Natural Resources contributors.

It is disingenuous for Sessions to expose a ‘flawed’ bill when we all know the immigration system is broken and there is a clear need for LEGAL IMMIGRATION REFORM.

A healthy and legal immigration solution will secure our borders, create a safer North American Continent and promote a stronger relationship with our contiguous neighbors. Enforcement-only initiatives promote a situation that emulates the failed days of Prohibition, which serves only to encourage the underground labor market. Our government needs the additional tax revenues that new immigrants generate in order to sustain the burgeoning entitlement programs baby boomers require as they continue to retire. By developing a reasonable legal immigration plan, we create a system where immigrants share American tax burdens as they continue to contribute millions of dollars into our tax coffers. New immigrants sharing our tax burdens will help discourage our government from increasing taxes, because under the current system these entitlement programs will drain all federal revenues within 15 years.

We’ve been through this before. It is much easier for politicians to blame immigrants who can’t defend themselves for our economic situation. In fact, we ought to support common sense solutions, and we ought to not waste billions on oil welfare subsidies.

Economic think tank, CATO Institute writes:

“According to estimates from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, there are 3.1 related jobs off the farm for every job on the farm. Eliminating the on-farm jobs would put at risk many more jobs paying middle-class wages and employing native-born American workers.”

Reince Priebus should resign. His lack of leadership will cost the GOP the entire southwest in future Republican elections.

Where is RNC’s Reince Priebus’ “Hispanic” leadership at when Rep. Steve King’s bigotry becomes the face of GOP?

Mexican-Americans are the fastest growing demographic in our Nation and Priebus is still missing in action doing everything that he can to not grow the party.

Priebus is not growing the Party as he turns a blind eye to the likes of Congressman Steve King and Cuban American Senator Ted Cruz.

Here is what Rep. Steve King is up to:

Steve King: ‘Senate Immigration Bill Is Worse Than Obamacare’

For the record: The Senate Immigration Bill is a bipartisan bill that is supported by Republicans, Independents and Democrats. It is a LEGAL method that will fix our clearly broken immigration system.

What can Priebus do to grow the Party?

Reince Priebus can start by signaling change to the RNC’s newly adopted anti-immigrant platform that was created and supported by Kris Kobach in the Summer of 2012.
