Senator Harry Reid blasts Senator Marco Rubio’s “DREAM Act” to keep youth to permanent underclass

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

Senator Harry Reid pretty much handed Senator Marco Rubio his arse with regard to the DREAM Act in the below op-ed.  How is it that a gabacho cares more about Latinos than those “convenient Hispanics” such as Rubio?

Rubio becomes “Hispanic” when Tea Party extremists need him to be one.  He was an effective tool for them when they needed him to side with the harsh Arizona anti-immigrant law. And he has flip-flopped on the DREAM Act the same way Mitt Romney flip flopped on his RomneyCare.  [On a side note: These crazy Tea Party people mobilized against Obama due to ObamaCare, and now they want to elect Romney who began RomneyCare that ultimately became the blueprint for ObamaCare.   They are utterly confounded.]

Marco Rubio is all of a sudden concerned about “chain migration” but fails to tell the public that his family benefited from “chain migration.”  And now we are learning that Rubio doesn’t want DREAMers to earn their citizenship.    Mexican-Americans and Chicanos BELIEVE in legal immigration.  We are not for amnesty even though the Cubans receive amnesty under the Cuban Adjustment Act.  We know that Cuban immigrants receive tax payer dollars without first contributing a dime into our taxpayer system.  The Mexicans want to contribute to our tax revenue system, too, and they are merely asking for legal immigration.

Where are the Cuban immigrants at in Florida revolting against Senator Marco Rubio?

Don’t Cuban-Americans know that Rubio is being used as a pawn for the likes of the Heritage Foundation, NumbersUSA and FAIR to keep those of Mexican descent (and other Latino immigrant groups who don’t benefit from amnesty)  in the shadows of society?

Don’t these people know that the likes of NumbersUSA will turn against the Cubans, too, once they are finished using politicians like Sen. Rubio?

Those of Mexican descent make up of almost 70% of the entire Latino population.  The xenophobes know this which is why they need tokens like Rubio to do their dirty work and keep the Mexicans in somewhat of a powerless underclass.  Cubans make up of only 3% of the Latino population which is why the puppet masters at FAIR are willing to use politicians like Rubio who benefit from amnesty in order to keep the larger Hispanic demographic as a permanent underclass.

Speaking of NumbersUSA (a well known anti-immigrant group)….they gave Senator Marco Rubio a good grade.  They gave him a B because they know damn well what they are doing.  They are using tokens to go after the larger Hispanic demographic to do their dirty work.  The Cuban-Republicans are taking the bait and it will backfire.

Let’s identify some fears, shall we? Just why is the Republican Party afraid of being compassionate to our youth via the DREAM Act?

Answer:  Because they have been hijacked by the nativist tea party extremists and they are afraid that if President Obama signs a DREAM Act bill and/or Legal Immigration Plan — then it might create generational Latino Democrats.  You see, amigos, Republicans will not be so scared when they try to create a situation that prevents an individual from voting — thus, creating an underclass.  It’s no different than when the slave owners tried to prevent slaves and African-Americans from becoming citizens to eventually vote.  Tea Party Republicans like Rubio want the Mexicans to work for competitive labor but not to give them the right to be citizens.

And that, amigos, is the bottom line.

So much for Republicans who tout personal responsibility.  They want Latinos to vote for them in 2012 as they try not to be held accountable for their open hostility towards Latino immigrants.  I think it’s time they took some courses on how to deal with disappointment.

An excerpt of Sen. Harry Reid’s op-ed below:

In contrast, the Republican plan to relegate hundreds of thousands of young people to a permanent underclass is unprecedented in American law or history, and goes against the basic American value of equal opportunity. Instead of bringing us closer to a solution, these measures move the discussion further away from the productive middle ground once occupied by Senator Hatch and other Republicans.

Ironically, even these bills have no chance of moving forward in a Republican House beholden to the Tea Party. Republican leaders automatically denounce any such proposal as an unacceptable “amnesty.” And how much farther to the right Republican leaders will move is anyone’s guess, since Romney’s positions are about as firm as an Etch-a-Sketch drawing, in the words of his own advisor.

If Republicans have constructive ideas to improve the DREAM Act, Democrats are listening. Before the last DREAM Act vote, we adjusted age limits and made other changes to accommodate Republican concerns. They still opposed it. However, our door remains open.

Mitt Romney’s Strategy? To win GOP primaries then paint himself an Obama-esque Progressive

Tuesday, December 13th, 2011

I have said it before and I’ll say it again.  Mitt Romney will do everything in his power to beat Newt Gingrich and Rick Perry in the Republican 2012

Mitt Romney IS Wall Street

Presidential primaries. Unfortunately for him he has changed his position so many times that nobody will be able to believe him. It doesn’t help how he is so tied into Wall Street either.

What’s his game in addition to taking a populist approach with regard to demonizing Latino immigrants when he advocates  for them to all go back to where they came? Romney was counting on the fact that demonizing immigrants and attacking Rick Perry on the DREAM Act would suffice in getting him to surge in the polls, but Newt put a wrench into things for him.

Romney wanted to happen to him what happened to Governor Jan Brewer when she became popular in demonizing immigrants in our State of Arizona, but someone forgot to give Mitt the memo  the immigration tide was changing.  Then Newt waited for the right time, allowing Perry and Romney to duke it out for a bit, and Herman Cain getting ousted so that it could cause the Gingrich campaign to surge.

If Mitt Romney were to win the Republican 2012 Presidential Primaries, he would be the first GOPer (pre-Ronald Reagan era) to receive Latino voter support to the tune of single digit numbers.  This is why Mitt Romney was advocating for Senator Marco Rubio to be his VEEP because he is counting on duping Latinos to support him with a Hispanic “token” at his side.  Romney, however, is out of tune with the southwestern Latino pulse because had he done his homework he would have found that those of Mexican descent loathe Rubio’s anti-immigrant and anti-DREAM Act policies.  Rubio supports Cuban amnesty under the Cuban Adjustment Act but he will not look at reforming comprehensive immigration reform laws for other Latino groups that do not have immigration privileges.

In addition to Mitt Romney miscalculating the direction of his campaign with his anti-immigrant approach, make no mistake he was relying to become  “Obama-esque” during the 2012 Presidential general elections.   After all, Mitt Romney supported RomneyCare which is similar to ObamaCare.

Mitt Romney was going to flip flop over to being a Progressive again like he did in 2002.  Romney had plans to play his “progressive card” after the GOP primaries.  He has history of it.

Don’t believe me?

Luke Johnson has the whole story here.

Here is a video where Mitt Romney described his views as “progressive” at a 2002 campaign stop in Worcester, Mass., while running for governor, and he stated:  “I’m someone who is moderate; and that my views are progressive,” he continued.

Arizona Needs a “Scrooge” Sheriff without the “Bah, Humbug”!

Support Mike Stauffer for Maricopa County Sheriff

By DeeDee Garcia Blase

On my way home from Black Friday shopping, I heard on the radio that Sheriff Joe Arpaio landed in a helicopter at the Paradise Valley Mall to announce his

Sheriff Joe Arpaio is Mall Cop on steroids.

crack down at Phoenix area malls. Sheriff Joe Arpaio has become Paul Blart Mall Cop on steroids, except Blart was funny. Arpaio wasting millions of dollars is not funny, particularly when the price for a barrel of oil is rising. Who in their right mind during a down economy wastes aircraft fuel and tax payer dollars simply to pull a public relations stunt? Should it not be enough that Arpaio inappropriately spent $99 million?

What’s a few thousand dollars more from a person who has been living so long on the dole? Public and elected officials should act more like Scrooge with sound penny pinching ideas, but without the “Bah, humbug” disposition.

Next to the United States’ Presidential race of 2012, quite a number of people throughout the nation and the world will have their eyes on a local race — the election of Maricopa County Sheriff.

The controversy surrounding this non-border county with a population less than Los Angeles, has been in the spotlight for over a decade now. Unfortunately there is no reason for that other than a narcissistic Sheriff who is in constant need of attention.

Change is in the air however, much to the chagrin of Joe Arpaio and his remaining allies. Not until now has Arpaio faced such a battle to retain his position as Sheriff. The people of Maricopa County, Arizona, are now taking a stand, and groups like the National Tequila Party and Somos Republicans are educating the voters on why it is time for a new Sheriff in 2012.

With the downfall of former state Senate president, Russell Pearce, and former Maricopa County Attorney, Andrew Thomas, the remaining member of the trio hangs by a thread. With less than one year before the general elections, the 79-year-old Arpaio is facing the most highly skilled opponent of his nearly 20 years of campaigning for office. Scottsdale Police Lt. Mike Stauffer, a 29-year veteran of law enforcement will be facing Arpaio for the first time in the general elections as an Independent.

Already activists are lining up and supporting Lt. Stauffer, and word is spreading throughout the County that “a new sheriff is in town,” and for good reason. While several groups will not support a candidate for Sheriff directly, they will be working behind the scenes to ensure the current “Mayberry” Sheriff does not see a sixth term in office.

With the latest press release from the Stauffer campaign, Stauffer delivers real solutions, cost saving measures, and above all constitutional standards back to the system. Lt. Stauffer states in part: “I support the Utah and the proposed Arizona Compact, in that they reaffirm my beliefs in the rule of law and the constitutional enforcement of the laws and statutes passed by the legislature.”

Stauffer also made it quite clear that “tent city” will be a thing of the past as it has done little to nothing to stop repeat offenders. In place of the “tents,” Lt. Stauffer says he will, “replace this facility with a self-sufficient work farm for first time and low risk inmates to learn skills, attend rehabilitation programs and provide food and services to the rest of the county jail system.” He will also partner with county business to hire qualified inmates through a work-release program that will help cover their stay and save the taxpayers millions of dollars over the long haul. He goes on to say: “This will have a positive impact on the recidivism rate, as the former inmate will have skills and the ability to make positive choices.”

According to West Kenyon, Stauffer’s campaign manager: “Unquestionably, this is exactly what we need now, a practical, professional solution to a broken and very corrupt system. Voters are ready for a new non-party politics sheriff. Lt. Stauffer has certainly staked his claim early, filing to run January of 2010, leaving no doubt in anyone’s mind he is serious on bringing reform to the system. It is evident with less then one year to the elections there are no other credible candidates for the job or they would have already stepped up to the plate.”

Time will tell but there is good evidence that the voters here in Arizona and beyond are demanding professionals, not politicians. We will continue to fight for what is right for Arizona, and the National Tequila Party Movement will stand firm in supporting quality candidates.
