As an independent registered Arizona voter, I believe career politicians ought to have term limits. We are sick and tired of career politicians like the former Congressman Jeff Flake who did not work in a bipartisan fashion on issues important to Americans because he was busy toeing the extreme Tea Party line.

Here is the thing though …. Wil Cardon, his Republican opponent accused Jeff Flake for lying about Flake’s term limit pledge.

Indeed Flake flaked out on another promise, and it’s time for Arizonans to see Flake retire.

The spot alleges Flake broke his self-imposed three term term limit.

The commercial even features a clip of of the Congressman explaining why.

According to the footage attributed to Reason.tv , Flake responds with “I lied” when asked about the term limit pledge.

Needless to say, that part of the ad’s claim is fact.

While a spokesperson says Flake was just joking about lying, he does concede Flake pledged to only serve three terms in Congress.

I am a conservative, independent and Mormon, but not supporting Mitt Romney and here is why:

In our faith we believe we are on this earth to probe we can keep out God’s commandments and progress in our eternal existence. He has taught us that we must obtained spiritual and knowledge treasures, as those are the only things going forward with us.

We believe that “when we are in the service of man, we are only in the service of God” (read if you wish Mosiah 2:17-18). So as a candidate for President I would hope, particularly if that candidate should be a Mormon that he would be able to express the love of Christ in his acts, and let me be clear, I am not saying he should be preaching but acting as Christ’s disciple.

So when Mitt Romney says he will do everything in his power as President to push self-deportation of 12 million undocumented humans, including minors brought by their parents as children to USA, is he expressing the love of Christ for his children? How did the Nephites receive their Lamanite brethren when they converted? See Alma 27

Now I will make a list of other topics I do not agree with Mitt Romney or the Republican Party that nominated him.

• I believe that a country that can send billions of dollars to other countries should be able to make education affordable to anyone who wants to go to College and I’m not even saying free.
• We should have a health system that covers every citizen. Health should not be a privilege but a right. Again if we are the wealthiest country in the world, shouldn’t we be able to do something? By the way, it doesn’t have to be free, just affordable.
• As a Christian nation, if you have people that have a lot more money than they would ever be able to spend, shouldn’t they pay a little more in taxes than those who actually have to work just to put food on their table and a roof over their head? Again and just to be clear, I am not saying the latter should not pay taxes.

The alternative may not be your idol, but at least he is not openly against these Christian believes. He may support other ideas that we don’t, but we can vote against those things that go against our principles of a Family and the respect for life since conception.
