Now that Ted Cruz won the “Republican” Texas Primary, will he work for dominant Mexican-American population in Texas and give same amnesty given to his Cuban People?

Wednesday, August 1st, 2012

Now that Ted Cruz won the “Republican” Texas Primary, will he work for dominant Mexican-American population the same amnesty given to his Cuban People?

The Democratic Party should mobilize Mexican-American voters and have them hold Cuban-American Ted Cruz’s feet to the fire.  It is a fact that Cubans receive amnesty via the Cuban Adjustment Act, and they receive government benefits without contributing a dime into our tax system.   Many Cubans immigrants come to the United States via Mexico.

So how ’bout it, Cruz?  Will you work to pass the “Mexican Adjustment Act” and afford the same comfort your immigrant family was afforded?  Or, will you continue to not support the DREAM Act and legal comprehensive immigration reform?  Several in the Mexican-American community view Cubans as coming into our Nation — but shutting the door behind them.

Tequila Party Cannot Support Tea Party Prince Rubio’s “Taxation without Representation” Ideas

Phoenix, AZ -  The National Tequila Party believes Senator Marcro Rubio’s DREAM Act version does not pass the “taxation

without representation” smell test.  Rubio (R-FL) recently introduced legislation seeking to limit eligibility for the tax credit. More importantly, Tea Party members pride themselves on the history of the Boston Tea Party.  At its core, the Boston Tea Party was a conflict over taxation. You may have heard the phrase “taxation without representation,” which developed in this era. Unlike their British brethren, the people living in the 13 colonies did not have direct representatives in the British parliament. Because of that, the colonists had no way to vote for how they would be taxed or who would represent them. And because of this lack of representation, the British government was free to tax the colonists in any way — and for any amount — that it saw fit. With no way to fight taxation and no way to claim their rights, many colonists feared that their property could be taken away through debilitating taxes.

It appears Rubio is leading the nation down a slippery slope of taxation without representation that violates the Boston Tea Party core principles.  How can the Tea Party Prince support ideas for immigrants to pay into the federal tax revenue system without representation?  If Rubio is limiting the eligibility for the tax child credit, will he eliminate the government tax payer funded monies that are given to Cuban immigrants who enjoy the compassionate Cuban Adjustment Act?  Cuban immigrants receive at least one year of tax payer government funded benefits once their feet touch our dry land in the United States, and it appears Cuban Republican Marco Rubio is offering table scraps to Mexican, Irish, German, Indian, Canadian, and Central American immigrants from around the world.

The Tequila Party does support the Cuban Adjustment Act.  We believe in compassionate views towards immigrants, however, we are asking Rubio to support the original DREAM Act version that began with the Republican Sen. Orrin Hatch of Utah.   The original version of the DREAM Act that was supported by Republicans over a decade ago does pass the tax question.

Texas Senate Candidate Ted Cruz likes to flaunt his Ivy League pedigree and can be aloof

Saturday, May 26th, 2012

Great story by the Wall Street Journal!

I believe Ted Cruz is out of touch and can be aloof.  More importantly, I also believe Ted Cruz supports amnesty under the Cuban Adjustment Act and has no history of his solid steps to support the much needed legal immigration reform. There has been a lot of commotion with regard to his immigration views.

From the Wall Street Journal:

However, he isn’t exactly Mr. Congeniality. Republicans of all stripes—including those who describe themselves as tea partiers and ‘very conservative’—prefer the lieutenant governor. Mr. Dewhurst’s net favorables are 30-points higher. One reason is that Mr. Dewhurst is a more charismatic, go-along-get-along politician who relates better to voters. He attended the University of Arizona, served in the Air Force, and now—notwithstanding the millions he made in energy investments—calls himself a rancher.

Mr. Cruz, on the other hand, likes to flaunt his Ivy League pedigree (Princeton B.A., Harvard J.D.) and can be aloof. When the Journal met with him last year, he introduced himself by rattling off his entire CV, including his debate club championships at Princeton. We’ve heard Mr. Cruz described as a mix between Florida Sen. Marco Rubio and Utah Sen. Mike Lee. But while he may be just as articulate and conservative as those two, he isn’t as self-effacing. If Mr. Cruz manages to push the race to a run-off, he’d do well to talk less about himself.

“No Somos Rubios” goes NATIONAL and viral on Latin media via Hispanic social networking

Friday, January 27th, 2012

Remember when Senator Marco Rubio kicked us when Latinos were down and out during a difficult Latino era when the Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer passed the harsh anti-immigrant law — SB 1070?  We are now seeing Senator Marco Rubio taking a populist approach on the DREAM Act.  He is clearly treating our youth like political footballs.  Senator Marco Rubio kicked us when we were down when he stated his support for Arizona’s harsh anti-immigrant law and he stated multiple times that he was against the DREAM Act.  Now that the 2012 Presidential election cycle is up and both parties need the Latino vote, we are hearing opportunist and populist Marco Rubio  sing a different tune.

From Adriana Maestas in POLITICS365:

Beyond Florida, should Marco Rubio become the Vice Presidential candidate, he will likely face trouble out west where there are larger Mexican American and other Latino populations most impacted by the immigration issue. Cuban Americans and Puerto Ricans in Florida are less impacted by immigration because of their status; Cuban Americans have the Cuban Adjustment Act and Puerto Ricans are US citizens by birth.
