Things are looking more hopeful!
I am not asking for money donations — it is free for you to call Congress and have them support immigration reform. Call them now and have them support immigration reform.
The solution is at the FEDERAL level because immigration is a federal issue under the Supremacy Clause.
The solution is not tapping into local community resources where the Arizona economy has already suffered from immigration scares. We must support immigration reform.
Efforts and resources should now point to the root of the problem has been all along and what the reasonable solution is. More importantly — IT IS FREE TO DO THIS! The root of the problem rests with the feds. It is their responsibility under the Supremacy Clause to fix the broken immigration system.
We are not asking for donations and money … we are asking you to make a simple phone call to Congress asking them to support the Gang of Eight Legal Immigration Reform bill.
Please call your Senators and Congressmen now and tell them to support the Gang of Eight – S. 744: Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act, now!
You can locate your Senators and Representatives here — please call them right now!
Arizona Rep. Ed Pastor has high hopes for immigration bill
PHOENIX — Arizona Democratic Congressman Ed Pastor is giving the bipartisan Senate Judiciary Committee’s immigration reform plan high marks.
The Gang of 8, which includes Arizona Republican Sens. JOhn McCain and Jeff Flake, has sent its immigration overhaul plan to the full Senate, where it will be heard this month.
Pastor, of Phoenix, believes it will pass the Senate before reaching the House in July.
“I like what I see so far. Yes I do,” Pastor said. “It was a great plan to begin with. I’m glad the president supports it. I think it will do well in the Senate.”
Pastor won’t speculate on the chances of immigration reform surviving the House. Pastor believed the House could craft its own immigration bill and possibly incorporate the Senate bill.
